Had a code, I think it was P0420 at this point I've forgotten but whatever code it was this converter fixed it. Now I've never had to do anything like this before so this was all new to me. I bought this item from the Amazon Warehouse for a discounted price which I thought would work out in the long run & it would have if I knew how to weld myself. I ended up finding a guy to do my welding job for $150, better than all the shops I called & got quotes for. One shop tried to tell the would charge me $500 to cut the old one off & weld the new one on so I said heck no, & found someone on Agies List. The money I spent in total, I coulve just bought a bolt on catalytic converter & saved myself the time because I ended up having to take the old one off myself & put it back on for the guy to charge me $150, it would've been a lot more if he had to do everything. After the job was done, I cleared the codes out of the cpu with my obd2 reader, drove around for 20-30 minutes & was able to pass emissions, of course after all the computers were ready. 3-4 months later, I still have no issues so I say this was exactly what I needed. I'm very pleased with the purchase or at least the outcome of the purchase. My only thing like I said was if I had known, I would've just bought the bolt on. Would highly recommend ,still waiting to see if check engine light stays out but gguess old one had a lead coming from it also and was smelling it in car.Great valve coast me with part $240.00 to get installed .I have a 2003 Pontaic grand am GT fit great and has a little bit of a cool sound to it .Not load at all .Very happy with purchase first time using Walker product.With have to update with Engine light . ... show more

Works great installed on 2003 Pontiac grand am inlet and outlet seem to be the same 2.5 inches which is a little bigger than stock exhaust which is 2.25 inches but filled gaps runs great now very nice product very happy

Have to get a hold of MFG..5 year warranty..we shall see , the code is P420, meaning "catalyst system efficiency below threshold," also 2.5" I.D is way oversize by at least 1/32 , I clamped it, slit around diameter 6 places so it could be replaced, glad I didnt weld it, never had one last more than 2 years, took it out and media was cracked open, not high end expensive, so I get it, but what a hastle, you want to set it and forget it right..Now it seems you have to mail them, not email to get instructions, send it back and wait for a new one, sending it back on your dime ... show more
