  • I've only had it a day, but I love it already.
I have only had this for a day but I already love it. I have a similar Philis Multigroomer trimmer (7790/40 model), which comes with about 30,000 different blade guides and other accessories. I really like the multigroomer but I almost never use the kazilion blade guides, etc. When I was cutting my own hair (thank you, pandemic), I graduated to serious clippers (Andis, Babyliss) because the multigroomer wasn't quite up to the task. I did use it occasionally as a beard and mustache trimmer, but the multitude of guards and having to swap them around all the time made it rather tedious. I've had half a dozen other trimmers of various brands, too, and have never been in love with any of them. There's the backstory. On to the good part. Enter the Philips OneBlade 360. "But wait, that's not this trimmer!" you exclaim. I stumbled on that trimmer a couple of days ago and, well, why not? Figured I would give it a try. Really like it! But that's a whole different review. It does not, however, come with a case, the search for which led me to THIS trimmer. When I saw the 9810, I quickly realized it is basically the same trimmer as the multigroomer, without all the blade guides, etc., and the really slick dial-in trimming adjustment. Sold. So why did I buy it when I had just bought the OneBlade 360? They are really good at different things. The OneBlade 360 I bought, which is the face and body trimmer version, is great for edging, shaping, clean up, manscaping, etc., and a quick face clean up when I don't want to wet shave. It's super maneuverable, quick, and versatile. In short, I like it for quick cleanups and edging but not so much for an all-out trim. The BT9810 is excellent for more serious trimming. I get the benefits of a trimmer with multiple blade guards without all the fiddling around. It is bulkier and less nimble than the OneBlade for clean-up and shaping but does a better job at the more involved or thicker cutting. You aren't going to use this in other places either, like for manscaping. I got more consistent length when setting this to a 5mm cut and hitting my mustache and beard than with the OneBlade. The OneBlade gave me nicer edges. Probably because it is just more maneuverable and shaves more like a razor in some ways. So, I wound up with two clippers I didn't know I needed. I love them both. And if you are a fan of Philips multigroomers but don't need or want 30,000,000 separate guides, this is for you. Have someone on your holiday list that you want to spoil? Buy them this trimmer. Or buy them both. Or buy them for yourself. All the other lackluster trimmers are going to the thrift shop now. I'll keep the multigroomer for those oddball occasions when I want the versatility of multiple blade guards, the body groomer, and interchangeable blades. If you read this far, you definitely deserve to buy yourself this trimmer. ... show more

  • Best bang for the buck
Far better performance than the cheaper options out there, including Norelco's own. Seems to last an eternity on a charge. Easy to clean, and oiling the blade takes seconds. Feels solid, looks solid, works as well as any trimmers I've ever used. There's nothing not to like.

  • It does the job and cuts well
This says it goes to 0.4mm, that is literally equivalent to a half of a half of half on a regular trimmer and it does not seem like it gets that short at all on my face. But other than that it does cut well and is super easy to use and would be great for being on vacation for a week and wanting to trim your beard and get a decent lineup. ... show more

  • Yes. FINALLY a good beard trimmer
I've been looking for a high quality beard trimmer for years and years. It didn't seem to me that anyone was interested in making a Sonicare-quality trimmer, something that will last a decade +. I've tried the i-Stubble (two different versions), manscaped, some other podcast DTC brand that escapes me, all claiming to be premium. They were are made of plastic with crappy ceramic/dull blades, made to be replaced when the warranty expires. I'd use them until the blades wouldn't cut, then try to buy a better one. The entire time, I've been using the same Sonicare. It's over 10 years old, never any issues. I don't know why it didn't occur to me to try Philips for a beard trimmer. This is Sonicare level. All-metal blade and guide assembly, nothing to grow brittle and shatter. It cuts in one pass, likely because the tolerances are staying tight longer. Simple, robust adjustment mechanism. Waterproof cleaning. And it's a bargain if you're in the habit of replacing your beard trimmer every two years like I was. ... show more

  • Smooth Sailing for the Family Jewels!
Let me tell you, folks, shaving the beans has never been this entertaining! I recently took the Philips Norelco Series 9000 for a spin down south, and let me just say, my family jewels have never felt more pampered. This shaver is like the superhero of grooming tools, delicately navigating the treacherous terrain of my nether regions. It's got more precision than a surgeon with a laser scalpel – not that I'd let a surgeon near my boys, but you get the point. The ergonomic design had me feeling like a shaving maestro, conducting a symphony of smoothness. It's so good; I almost wanted to set up a tiny stage and charge admission for the performance. Now, let's talk about the "no nicks and cuts" claim. I was skeptical, to be honest, but this bad boy delivered. It's like a ninja with a PhD in ball shaving – precise, gentle, and deadly effective. In conclusion, if you want your downstairs to be as smooth as James Bond in a tuxedo, the Philips Norelco Series 9000 is your secret weapon. Cheers, no tears to smooth sailing and a happy pair down there! ... show more

  • Great trimmer!
Best trimmer I have ever owned, and I have a 8 mm full beard. Bell performing and good value. Pros: Comfortable in the hand with good weight distribution. Very satisfying, sharp cutting-sounds, feels and sounds like high quality! Does not pull hair at all. Cons: having to use the attachment is annoying. It goes to 5mm without attachment. I would prefer a wider range of cutting-depth, so I don’t need to remove/attach every time I clean it. Also hair clippings get stuck in grooves in the selector, which looks dirty really quick. (See picture). ... show more

  • Very good quality but makes a mess
Pros: The quality of this beard trimmer is evident once you pick it up. Most of the pieces are metal and it has some decent weight to it. It has kept its charge pretty well and it works pretty well giving an even cut while being easy to use. Cons: Whenever I use this it looks like my beard exploded all over the place since there's no guard or any attempt at all to manage the hair it cuts. ... show more
