These bulbs are great. If you know the Philips Hue ecosystem these fit right in with their other products. 5 stars, sure fine. I'm mainly writing this to warn others NOT TO PURCHASE the "used" bulbs, even if they are coming from Amazon. I've bought 3 of these that stated they were "used - very good" and coming from Amazon. Of those, 2 were swapped out with some random cheap bulb and the third was correct but broken and wouldn't turn on. I mean, I guess it's probably not news that you shouldn't buy used light bulbs, but in case anyone is wondering, it's not worth the hassle. Literally none of them have been what I ordered, and now I have to deal with a bunch of returns. ... show more

I hooked these into a screw-on fixture, fired up the app, searched found added, and grouped them into my house/room/setup within 5 mins. I never needed to reconfigure with already existing switches; it just WORKS! Update: On Prime Day, I picked up a Hue Play Sync; these lightbulbs play surprisingly well for effects on the sealing. So far the Hue candle bulbs I received are working well. They upgraded successfully to the latest firmware. They work in dynamic mode. They are bright and the coloring is even. Recommended with anyone with a Philips Hue lighting system.

This is just as expected with Philip's. Integrates well with Alexa, changes color when told, dims and brightens just fine. However, I was worried after it kept disconnecting after a few days. It's been fine since, but it's a pain when you have to climb back up to get the serial number off the bulb. Never had it happen with the regular bulbs, just this one, so I never thought to write the number down. Lesson learned. It's still worth the money. ... show more

Look. These things are expensive. Seriously. You have to buy 5 to 10 of these for a chandelier. But the one thing that really bothered me was the design. Or at least that’s what I thought looking at the photos. The lower third is solid white and to me it was going to be a deal killer. But I took the plunge because i purchased new nightstand lamps that use one bulb. I have to say they are really good.looking. Yes the lower third is solid but when lit there is a really cool inner bulb that makes these bulbs really beautiful when lit. See how I’m using them in the photo - but you can’t see the “inner bulb” but trust me, if the price wasn’t an issue for you, and like me, you didn’t think they’d look good. Think again. They are much nicer looking than you’d think. In fact, they are even nicer looking than a “classic bulb.” I took a star off for price. If they were 10 bucks a bulb I’d give them 6 stars. ... show more

So most people would see Sengled as a better buy in general, but what really pushed me to buy and use these instead--Is that all in one capability. Sengled didnt have e26 bulbs in white ambiance to sync up with these, when Philips did. On top of that, Philips hue app was pretty quick and the best part--No $60 hub. Pros: - Quick setup (I advise setting them all up at once because bluetooth is weird with one at a time) - Hub optional - Just as bright to me (maybe a bit darker, not noticeable) to sengled bulbs Cons: - When using Alexa routines (like shutting down or turning on lights), it would turn them off/on one at a time. Not sure if this is an expected function but its better all together. Hopefully in a later update - Higher cost than most aftermarket bluetooth/wifi bulbs, but also more efficient right now - Must use seperate app if you dont have a hub(not a big deal honestly) For the price you're paying, these are good for syncing with a home. If you just want it for a lamp or bedroom lights and thats all, I recommend another brand. ... show more

These lights are expensive, but they're brighter than the incandescent bulbs they replaced, and feel better on my eyes when I'm doing the late night computing which was the reason I bought them. Gives the choice between cool daytime light or warm night time light and everything in between. I'm satisfied, but now I'm definitely getting the hub. Without it you can only use the phillips app, which means no simple voice control, and no way to control other brands or more than eight phillips at the same time. ... show more
