The only complaint was with Phillips hue pre order I was on the pre order directly with Phillips hue and waited months and months very little communication. Chassis and stake and trim ring are metal as I expect at this price point. Easy to set up. Cable is nice and thick. Transformer is sturdy. I did hear it’s not so bright, like a lot of HUE stuff, but it’s well made so far and probably has very good color rendition unit-to-unit like other HUEs.

    • After 2-years, durability is questionable, design flaws outweigh pros and support is a joke
I own a complete 4-piece set of the Hue Calla outdoor lights. Setup and install is easy. All four devices appear in the Hue app without any trouble. However, be sure keep the included insulation booklets with lamp serial numbers in case you ever have to reset your Hue bridge. My original units did not include the serial numbers on the lamps themselves, only the installation pamphlets that came in the box. When my bridge died and had to be replaced, this was an issue. As for durability, after two years, every lamp has yellowed. The lens are not UV coated and will turn yellow if exposed to the sun. Additionally, every lamp except one has cracked underneath near the stake insertion point because of weather and had to be glued and resealed. Hue support does not consider this a defect. The stake insertion point is a weak point in the lamp and can easily be broke when installing. Be careful. I recently redid the flower bed that these lamps are installed in. Beware the low-voltage cords that power the units become fused to the T-adapter over time. I broke a lamp and T-adapter trying to unscrew them. The T-adapters are not readily in stock and Hue support won't help you. Before you order, make sure you purchase 1 base kit and "extension kits" for every lamp you would like to chain. Hue does not include all necessary hardware in each SKU. Only the extension kits contain the T adapter and base kit contains the power supply. I love my Hue products, but I would not repurchase this product again. Between the quality control issues, the lack of color vibrance compared to other Hue products and overall lack of support from Hue—I don't feel they held up to their cost. ... show more

    • Vibrant colors and bright
I received this and immediately installed it. Took all of 10 minutes from unboxing to connecting to the Hue Bridge. When night came around I turned it on and was blown away at the brightness of the white and all the colors. I dimmed it at multiple settings and the color remained consistent. I pre-installed the stake that the light mounts to by covering it with a piece of wood and hammering it into the ground, removed the stake, attached it to the light fixture and popped it back into the ground. I was concerned when I was considering the purchase, whether the power cord and the extension piece of cord would be sufficient to reach where I wanted to place the first light, but there was plenty of length. The light output on bright goes pretty far in a 3 to 4 ft radius away from the fixture. The light also comes from the top of the fixture and I placed it under a tree that had a floodlight from the existing low voltage and it was sufficient to light the tree up as well. I'm pretty pleased with it and plan to buy more when the price drops. Buy it! You won't regret it! ... show more

    • Base is poor quality plastic
When installing these lights, I pushed the light into the soil and the bottom where the stake is attached snapped. The metal screw is attached through cheap plastic and it broke. I was able to fix it with epoxy, but be warned, these aren't as well made as their Lily counterparts.

    • Amazing lights!
Costly when compared to cheaper options, but then again I know some folks that have put in high end lighting that is similar on costs if not more, and this is so much better than the cheap or super expensive lighting. We have the Calla around our pool - just added Lily lights to light up the bigger parts of the landscape. More to go as the wife is not thrilled at the costs, but I will sneak more in over time! ... show more

    • Low quality
Not very bright some colors dont match with my other hue lights and wow the place were the stake mounts broke just trying to tighten it on. So had to take it all the way apart and put large metal washers to distribute the pressure on it so after an hour I got it to work wow not cool make these as good as the other products ... show more
