I picked this up mostly for the feeling of popping in a CD again and it really does scratch that nostalgic itch. The setup is simple and the controls feel familiar in a way that reminded me of being a kid. I tried the CD player, the EQ settings, and the radio, and the radio actually pulled in my local stations surprisingly well. That alone made it more fun to play with than I expected. The sound sits right in that middle range where it works best. It is not trying to be a premium audio system, and it is definitely not cheap sounding either. Vocals land clean, the mid range is the sweet spot, and the bass is present but not heavy. It is the kind of sound that works for casual listening while you are cleaning, cooking, or just relaxing. The EQ button gives a couple different flavors depending on the album and helps older CDs come through nicely. For me this brings back a lot of memories. I honestly think CDs are going to be our generation’s version of vinyl and little players like this will end up filling the same role record players have now. I restored an old jukebox that plays forty fives a while back, and having this for my CDs feels like the same kind of comfort. If you grew up in the late eighties or nineties, or even the early two thousands, this feels like slipping back into something familiar without any hassle. It is lightweight, easy to carry, and just plain enjoyable to use.

I am reviewing a CD player made by Philips. You know you don't see these to much anymore and I am sure in the near future they might become "vintage". I like this little player, it is compact, handles CD's, has great sound and even something you don't see everyday AM/FM radio. Very traditional. And up to date as well as it offers Bluetooth, a big plus. I am going to love using this on my front porch while relaxing and when away from home. I feel this is a great value and would make a fine gift for just about anyone. I comes with a bunch of instructions if you need them. I have included some photos for you to see and thank you for reading my review.

This is a clean looking, compact CD player that actually sounds better than expected for the size. The speaker clarity is good at medium volume, and the bass is acceptable for a small unit. It supports Bluetooth, FM radio, USB playback, and regular CD and MP3 CDs. The Bluetooth connects quickly and does not cut out. Controls are simple, and the display is clear. Lightweight enough to move room to room, but does not feel cheaply hollow. Buttons are firm and do not rattle. Good for garages, kitchens, small offices, or taking outside. It is a nice balance of old school CD playback with modern features without looking like a toy.

The media could not be loaded. After we moved across the country, we left our CD and DVD player behind. So for four years the only music we hear is either through our car’s radio or earbuds. I long to have music serenely wafting throughout our home again. The listing for Philips CD Player with Bluetooth and FM Radio popped up and my trigger finger plopped down on its listing a split second later. I’m glad I did! The radio portion’s sound is not that great, but it’s coming through two little speakers. (The radio in my car comes through even more speakers, so it’s fuller in my car.) However, I am most surprised and happy with the CD Player’s sound, even though it came through the same two speakers. It has more punch, more pizzaz. I’m having a few work friends over for a Christmas Party. I will be playing Christmas Carols in the background, most likely through a streaming service, my phone, and my new Philips Player. I might even dust off my 20 year old CD’s and play them. Oh, the possibilities. This is definitely not your grandmothers CD Player. It has so many different gizmos on it, it make’s my 1900’s head spin: CD, Radio, Bluetooth, Speakers, USB, and AUX. And until we once again have speakers throughout our home to escalate and experience the pure magic of music, we will be using our new Philips CD Player to help us along the way.

This is a multi-function CD/FM player. It has standard AC power, but also uses 4 C batteries. The built-in speakers are OK, not great. There is Bluetooth capability, but that, and the USB jack, seem to be for input: I could not get USB headphones or Bluetooth headphones to play output. The input mode, playback and repeat/memory play buttons are a bit cumbersome and take a bit of a learning curve. The track/preset modes require the user to scroll through 30 sets, up/down in a linear manner. The FM audio is okay, at least for stronger (nearby) FM stations. Using a good pair of headphones for the external earphone jack, and using a demonstration CD that I use to test stereo systems, I found that the fidelity has a lot better audio output than for the built-in speakers (neither the headphones or demo CD are included). The demo CD had music that I had once performed or heard in concert, so I was able to judge this unit's fidelity, at least on the external headphones. In all, the multiple functions are varied but somewhat limited and cumbersome. It's a reasonable compromise unit for mobile uses (for instance, camping).
