This is fun and is able to improve your swing

I have had a lot of fun using this simulator. I am shocked how accurate the sensor is and how that translates into the game. I have found the practice range on the Phigolf app great to train with (when I can't be outdoors at a range or course). It tracks stats like club swing speed, angle of attack and a few others. There is a bit of a learning curve to figuring out how to putt and get the sensor to pick up that you are ready to swing, but once you get the hang of it there is no issues. Phigolf app is not as good as the WGT app so I spend most of my time in the WGT (which you can access from inside of Phigolf app) unless I want to hit at the range. I 100% recommend spending the $2 per month otherwise I don't feel like you would have enough courses and tournaments to keep you entertained longer term. So beware that you will need that. I am not sure how the purchased/rented clubs work in the app, but I do not think you need to pay to play and have fun and work on your swing. Multiplayer works well online and I am able to play with people I know. That being said, this is probably better used as a pass and play game unless you know someone who has it and you can face off against them directly. I was not having much luck finding other opponents through the search system. Overall, I would recommend if you are comfortable spending the money on this type of simulator vs the other options out there. I think this works great in the sense you don't need to hit a ball and works in a relatively small amount of space. You also need to be able to hook up your phone/tablet/Chromebook or whatever you play on to a TV to really enjoy the game.

Fun game and helpful for learning a real golf swing.

I’m giving it 5 stars. Using it for 5 or 6 months now. This product is great at the price for what it is. I use it to play golf in my living room almost nightly. I’m 52 and started golfing about 1.5 years ago. Never golfed in my life. I struggled terribly trying to figure out how to swing a golf club. After hundreds and hundreds of swings with this I finally got it! Yes I have practiced out in my back yard net and been to ranges a few times but I credit the feedback that the Phigolf club/sensor apparatus gives me more than any other training aid I’ve used. While you’ll never slice a ball with this, it absolutely does require a real golf swing to get distance. If you do not release the club at the exact moment and swing with proper form your distances will reflect it. It will help your golf swing and I find it so fun to play every night. The graphics are very good too. Again, it’s not a golf simulator, it’s a fun game that requires a real golf swing. I would buy it again

GREAT Product, despite some technical glitches

First of all, I’m not giving this 5 stars solely because of technical glitches. The WGT app has a fair amount of trouble reading the sensor initially. I’ve had problems with WGT crashing, and when it does, it doesn’t save your round. And to get back, you have to go through But that is pretty much it for the negatives where it hasn’t met my expectations. As far as actual play, it has greatly exceeded them. Accuracy – 1. Club Distances – There are complaints about it giving lower distance than in real life. I found this to be true, until I realized that without an actual ball to hit, I was subconsciously not accelerating through the ball. I also saw a video review of someone saying the distances were way off. But he was only swinging about at about 65%. It may not be natural to swing like you’re hitting a real ball, but once I did that, I’ve found the distances to be VERY close to what I hit in real life – certainly WAY, WAY better than I expected for something that only costs $250. Note I am using the stick, not a real club. 2. Shot Shape – I kept pulling to the left. What I learned is that if you rotate your club after addressing your club, this changes the face angle. That allows more many more possible shots, though I haven’t explored this completely. It did read a punch shot that I did out of the trees, which was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. Because it assumes you hit the club in the center, you aren’t going to get really bad slices or hooks, but given that the courses to play are some of the hardest in the world, it’s probably for the best. 3. Short Game – Putting is much more sensitive than in real life. Even changing to slow greens doesn’t seem to matter. It’s pretty easy for me to make nearly every 5 ft put, but the long putting is very touchy. It’s a very fine line between sending a put 25 ft, and sending it 60. Below 25, it seems pretty consistent. A technically accurate chip shot doesn’t seem to work, so I use a light pitch instead. 4. Rough and Sand Play – there doesn’t seem to be any distance penalty on these, so they might as well be grass. That’s not unlike a commercial simulator that I have been to. Overall Realism - I shoot about 100-110 most real-life rounds, and about 95-100 on this, so overall, betwen more give and and some take, it’s reasonably close. I play better from afar than in real life, but four-putting a couple holes per round because I was initially very far away is my usual downfall. Yes, if you are a low handicapper trying to fine tune your game, this wouldn’t be for you. If you are more recreational and would really like to have a very fun and satisfying golf fix, this is a GREAT bargain.

Since there’s no chance to go out and play golf, it’s perfect for spending time with family at home as if you were playing a game. The swing sensor detects movement, allowing you to know the ball’s direction and distance, and when connected to a TV and viewed on a large screen, it feels as if you’re actually running on the golf course. Even in a small house, I can swing freely, so I practice often.

HUGE letdown

I had a simple idea - get the Phigolf and hop on the TV once in a while to play a round of golf by myself at some of the coolest golf courses. You know, just get away now and then via the virtual world. According to Phigolf's marketing materials, they were exactly what I was looking for. What a mistake. One of the major selling points for the Phigolf is the arrangement with WGT - buy Phigolf and for $2/month, you can access 24 great courses on WGT with wonderful graphics. Major problem #1 - WGT is absolutely horrible. You have zero control over the app - ads pop up, flashing arrows and hands pop up, you automatically get paired with a competitor even if you don't want it ..... the list is a mile long. If I was lucky enough to get to the screen I wanted before WGT directed me somewhere else, too much time had passed and the sensor on the Phigolf had gone to sleep. And if I tried to turn it back on, WGT wouldn't allow it "in the middle of a round" and I could only play by swiping my finger or using my mouse! I could never use Phigolf with WGT. Cheap trick #1 - you're supposed to get 24 courses if you sign up for the $2/mo subscription - guess what, you don't. You get some of the courses and the others remain locked until you reach a certain level. Which means you're back into WGT world where they are selling credits and coins in a gambling setup. WGT is not designed with the golfer in mind, it's a candy crush scheme aimed at getting you addicted and buying your way forward. I have no idea how anyone could stand WGT enough to get addicted, but some people are. So, without WGT you're left with Phigolf which isn't anything more than an overpriced Wii - in fact, it trails behind the Wii in some respects. My recommendation - don't buy this product (or sign up for WGT). Also, don't make my 2nd mistake - which was not messing around with it enough before the return window closed.

It's fun for what it is. It's not very accurate for distance or direction of the hit. My wife consistently hits 220 but has never gotten more than 150 in real life. My hits are widely inconsistent and putting is the same. It does help a little with your swing.

Best in-house simulator without breaking the bank

Best in category. I tried all of the in home swing trainers and all have there pros and cons, but Phigolf is the winner for me. I started out testing Phigolf, Tittle x, and Trugolfs home swing studio. Both the tittle x and trugolf run off of the e6 software which honestly looks pretty bad running on an iPad Pro. Phigolf has 2 options, it’s proprietary software that offers various training, driving ranges, and several courses to play. All look much better, and play stutter free compared to what e6 was offering. They also offer several tournaments against real life players that offer amazon gift cards to the winners and a random entrant, which adds a little bit of excitement to playing. Add in the WGT software at an amazing price of only 1.99 a month and you have plenty of variety to play with. I must give props to Phigolf for there design of the swing stick and sensor. The swing stick has a great look and a fairly decent grip. The best part is the feedback you get with a double click on where the contact takes place and when you stop your swing. Compared to the other 2, it’s quiet enough that I can play early in the morning or late at night and not wake up my family with a loud click. Finally the accuracy of the sensor. Phigolf has done a great job of developing this sensor and it shows. On both the tittle and trugolf, I would get some random drives that would fly 350 yards, while phigolf has been pretty consistent with what I hit in real life (275 max). The putting actually works. My only real gripe is not really a gripe, But the Apple TV app was not fully functioning as of this writing. They did announce that an update is coming in the near future, but once it comes it will be great to get a full screen experience without the small sidebars when I airplay to my tv. Well done Phigolf. Recommending this to all of my golfing friends and looking forward to keeping my swing going in the cold winter months. And especially now with being quarantined.
