  • MEASURE YOUR FACTORY INSERT AND COMPARE SIZE BEFORE YOU ORDER. Zero Clearance inserts are table saw specific. Since every table saw brand and manufacturer is different, we recommend that you measure the exact length, width and thickness of your table saw insert or opening and compare it to the size we list. Also be aware of the shape of your current insert of whether its round, square ends or if there are any indents or protruding notches. Insert colors may vary from images shown.
  • If you own a table saw, then you probably have had smaller pieces of wood get caught between the saw blade and the factory supplied throat plate opening. This can cause that piece of wood to jam up against the blade and go flying across the room or worse yet, right back at you. Zero clearances help minimize this situation from happening since there is no gap between the blade and the zero clearance opening. The opening is more like a custom slot cut to the exact width of your table saw blade.
  • Another great reason to use a zero clearance insert is to help reduce that pesky and irritating tear out you always tend to get on your cuts. Without a zero clearance, the wood has no support by the blade to prevent the wood from tearing out. This is especially true when cutting plywood. Zero clearance inserts help prevent tear out by essentially enveloping the blade on all sides which doesnt allow the wood to tear out since there is not gap between the blade and insert.
  • Zero Clearance inserts can be used in conjunction with most any table saw blade including thin kerf, standard kerf and carbide tipped blades. You can also use zero clearance inserts with dado blade sets. The reason you would use zero clearance inserts with dado blades is to reduce the amount of tear out the dado blade set produces. We recommend that you use separate zero clearance inserts for dado blades since the gap for dados will be much wider than standard width table saw blades.
  • This zero clearance insert is made from a high density phenolic material that was chosen for its ability to stand up to everyday workshop use. The insert features two Snug Fit sand-able side tabs that allow you to remove a little material at a time for a perfect fit if necessary. The insert also features a top and a side Snug Fit Screw for a tight fit to you saw with no movement!

  • Well thought out but unfortunately warped
The insert that I received is warped. If you hold a straight edge across the long axis the plate is bowed almost 2mm in the center making it frustrating to level out and significantly reducing the effectiveness of having the zero clearance feature. I might have been unlucky in getting this plate but for such a costly item I expect better. The plate is decently thought out allowing for the blade to come up through both sides of the plate which probably affords the plate to be used on many different saws. The plate is designed with side and front screws for tension which will hold the plate secure with the plate bumped out on the opposing side and back. This mechanism works well enough. ... show more

  • POS, Might be nice if it fit
DONT BUY THIS IF YOU WANT QUALITY, ITS JUNK. Kept seeing reviews indicating that I might have to sand this for a perfect fit. Nothing on how it fits loose with but a single adjustment provision. But even if you wrap the product in tape to fir, it’s not going to do any good since the plate is not flat. The one they shipped me curved up from back to front so if you leveled the back, the front of the plate sticks up above the table. Called the vendor on their card that said,” problems or missing parts, call us.” Got no satisfaction other than to return it to Amazon. As mentioned in another review, the color is not the red shown but white. All in all another junk product going back. One last comment after a week. Tried to contact president of Peachtree, no response. Poor customer service to go with a poor quality product, par for the course these days. ... show more

  • Good insert, a little work, though.
Like a previous reviewer, I have a vintage Grizzly G1022SM Table Saw that was rapidly upgraded to the "Z" version with cast iron wings and updated fence. Since getting parts for it is impossible, I take extremely good care of the saw. I just finished a complete tear-down, removing the trunion and cleaning, inspecting and re-packing the bearings. Reassembled and aligned with care, still working fine. I'm doing some laminate work, and needed a zero-clearance insert. This one measured out correctly, and I placed the order. Upon arrival, I compared it to the existing insert, and found that it was too wide and too long, but not by much. Thankfully, having a well equipped shop, I used a bench top disc/belt sander to take the nubs on the right side completely off, and take about 1/16" off the front to get a snug fit. The nub on the back had to have about half the size filed off so it would sit under the table and adjust properly. Of course, taking that much off the front, I had to re-countersink the adjusting screw threads to get the adjusting screw to flush up with the insert. OK, now we're ready. The insert performs as advertised, with an every so slight hump up towards the middle of the insert, which I"m not worried about. As long as it keeps scraps from getting between the blade and the insert, I'm fine with it. One last thing I did. I removed the adjusting screws from the insert, and placed a drop of hot-melt glue into the threads. I immediately used compressed air to blow out the hot-melt glue, leaving a fine coating of glue on the threads. The adjusting screws now lock into place, and it takes a bit of effort to move them again. Just what I wanted. Works perfectly now, in and out with no adjustments required. If you have a decently outfitted shop, you can get this to fit and adjust out just fine. Worth the money, and I'll be buying a few more for dado work. Very much recommended if you don't mind a bit of work get sized it properly. ... show more

  • Its not the OEM red color ....
Its not the OEM red color shown on the Amazon add, I was disappointed in this....otherwise it is an excellent alternative. In my 04 Unisaw, it fit perfectly snug without sanding the adjustment tabs or use of the adjustable side screw and there is plenty of elevation adjustment in the set screws for a flush, stable mount. Far superior in weight to any I make from plywood or MDF and no need to laminate the surfaces or seal edges. Some reviewers complained of varying degrees of warpage / cupping right out of the package, I had no such experience, your milage may vary. ... show more

  • Features and Quality Far Exceeding the Price Point
The zero clearance insert fit perfectly into my Delta Unisaw. It includes the hex key needed to adjust the vertical alignment screws. This insert also includes Phillips head adjustment screws to tweak the front/back and left/right gap for an “as perfect as can be” fit. I wish I had ordered these years ago! I’ve purchased 2 of them. One for the .125 kerf blades and one for the stack dado set. Who can argue with the price either. Exceptional quality for a remarkably low price considering what you are getting for the money! I would strongly recommend to anybody that uses a table saw! ... show more

  • Don't buy for dewalt table saw. Just make a custom one yourself.
Bought this for a dewalt 10 in table saw. I got it today tried to install it, WAAAAAY too tight to the point you have to beat into place with a hammer..., but np. Sanded like 3 times with 240 on one side to get a proper snug fit. Then when I actually got it to fit inside properly... realized it was like 3/16ths to a 1/4 in to thick.. and also like 3/8ths to a half in to small length wise.. ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS. if it's for a dewalt DO NOT BUY THIS. Had to rip it for it to sit flush, then on top of ALL this.., the pilot holes for leveling it flush with the top. All the adjustment screws were all in the wrong place!!! So I then had to drill new pilot holes then get new screws and cut them. Also had to get a new longer screw for the length adjustment screw cause it was to small for the 3/8t in gap. ... show more

  • No riving knife pre-cut slot. But very durable, solid construction.
The material of this is shockingly heavy duty. It's some type of super dense, strong plastic resin. It's not the light weight fluffy cheap plastic. My current insert on my older Grizzly saw is some type of lightweight low quality plastic. This insert is built like a tank, and is easily twice as dense and heavy. It doesn't have a spot for a riving knife, so if you retrofit a riving knife onto your older saw that didn't come with one, or if you want to run the original splitter, you may need to simply cut a slot in this for the riving knife to come through, which would be as easy as drilling some small holes and using a jigsaw. ... show more
