BE AWARE DIYers! I bought this cable specifically for my 3rd party LED strips from SuperBrightLeds, which conveniently uses this LC4 connector end. I thought "Great this Phantek cable is going to work out of the box!" It does NOT. Phantek apparently uses their own 'custom' wiring scheme, so I had to actually cut and re-solder the end of the connector to get it to follow "standard" wiring of normal LED strips. The standard RGB wiring scheme is 12V-G-R-B. With this cable, by the time it hits the LED strip, it's B-R-G-12V. I've created a nifty diagram to show you what's going on, and how to fix it if you are decent at soldering. Basically it appears they've reversed some wiring so you have to buy both the Phantek branded cable (where wires get swapped around) and then the Phantek branded LED strip (where they re-swap the wires back to normal.) Works as expected. I used two of them to connect four Phanteks Halos RGB fan frames to my motherboard's 4pin RGB headers. Everything fit snug and the lights look great. Knocking a star, because IMO this product is a money grab by phanteks. Their "proprietary connector" is a 4pin, and this adapter literally just changes the pin shape to standard RGB. They should have just made their connectors be the usual 5050 compatible 4pin. ... show more

    • "Adapter" but does not work
Does not work with the 3 Pin Phanteks Lux Digital Halos. Great waste of time and money because Phanteks cannot organize their listing, or know how to write product specifications. Edit: After finding solution, this adapter is useless, no idea why it was being reccomended by reviews. You need this maybe for Phanteks cases. This is useless for a Gigabyte and MSI mobos if I read properly. They come with their own adapters with the motherboard, that take the 3 Pin Phanteks Halos, and connect to the adapter, which then is 4 Pin Addressable RGB. Asus Aura sync people Listen up!! OK if you have a 3 pin header for RGB on your Asus MoBo; STOP. You need the Halo Digital Lux and not the Less expensive Halos. Asus actually has 2 DIFFERENT Aura sync systems! One 4 pin (12V) and one 3 pin (5V). Unfortunately; this is NOT common knowledge and I only found this out after calling Phanteks.     • Built in RGB controller broke, switched over to motherboard's RGB
My phanteks evolv shift's built in RGB controller decided to stop working properly, and while diagnosing the problem, the power cable broke off of the PCB. Instead of fixing it, I terminated the cables to prevent a short and bought this cable to switch from the case's RGB controller to the one built into my motherboard. It's great being able to sync all of the RGB lighting from one place. Now my ram, MB, light strip, and case are synced. It looks better than it did before now that all the colors match. I just wish that it wasn't because my case's RGB controller broke in the first place. ... show more

    • Works fine but disapointing cash grab.
Bought this to connect my Phanteks Halos 4 pin RGB to connect to motherboard pin. Apparently the Phanteks Halos have their own proprietary 4 pin plug that doesn't connect directly to the motherboard, only to their controller. You need to buy this to convert it and connect directly to my motherboard (x570 Elite). It works and fits perfectly but this feels like a cash grab by Phanteks, just make the pin plug directly to the motherboard instead of making your own pin. ... show more

    • Product received was different from picture
Product did not patch the picture My cable had a standard 4-pin connector. The picture shows a more stripped-down version of the connector. I needed to attach to a Gigabyte motherboard with a 5-pin connector. The normal 4-pin connector does not fit because of the plastic housing. I had to use a pair of scissors to trim the plastic from the sides so it would fit. That said, once I did this it did the job and I love the RBG lighting in my case. I think if I had the connector in the picture it would have just worked without the hack though. ... show more

I had to purchase this to make sure not only will my halo fans be plugged into the motherboard securely, but I also need to be sure the correct colors show on the Phantek Halos 140mm 4-pin edition. Without the adapter, the calibration software still would not show the correct color. This adapter fixes the color problem (after Aura software calibration) and offers a more secure connection to the motherboard.
