Description

Specially forged for Woodcraft, these intermediate size, professional style tools are 2" shorter than our regular Swiss tools for easier control and greater responsiveness. The precise tempered high-grade steel tools are sharpened, honed and buffed for immediate use with an edge that will stay sharp for many enjoyable hours of woodcarving. These delicately balanced tools work well for getting into confined areas. The overall length is 8" with 3-1/2" blades and 4-1/2" octagonal hardwood handles.     • Not A Safe Piece of Wood in the House!
When a person begins a hobby like wood carving they are often hampered by tools. Not only is it likely they don't have the tools they need, they often aren't sure which ones to get, which ones they need. It can be intimidating. Pfeil has addressed this problem by offering this set. If you spend the money upfront you won't be disappointed. It's billed as an intermediate set, but I would not let that stop you from purchasing them as a beginner. The more you use these tools the more familiar you will become, the better your work, but these tools will not stand in the way of your work being the best. They will allow your skill to flourish to the max of its ability. As you pull them from the box you can feel their quality in the balance of the wait and comfort of the grip. The minute you touch them you begin to dream of carving. There won't be a safe piece of wood in the house! And they cut through wood like a hot knife through butter. They are hard and sharp right out of the box. They also come with a nice wooden rack to hang in your work area which helps to keep them from dinging against each other. The only problem with the rack is that it is made for six tools and they send you seven. They figure you are always going to be holding one in your hand, and that presumption is not without reason. . ... show more

    • Beautifully Designed and Executed - World Class Tools
I'm new to carving, but I cannot say enough about this Pfeil toolset. I have been working with my grandfather's old tools (Acorn and Buck), which are very good quality tools, but absolutely nothing compared to the Pfeil. I can only assume they are extremely sharp because I am scared to actually touch the blade. I have no doubt simply touching the blade would cause a massive laceration. The tools fit very nice in the hand, with the end of the tool resting comfortably in the palm of my hand. Beautifully designed and perfectly executed. Cannot recommend these enough. ... show more

The tools are Pfeil which are great but what I received was not what was advertised. Advertised tools had a chisel and a skew. What I received was a Set C (all gouges) and a V-tool. If I had wanted the “C” i would have ordered it. It’s not the fault of Pfeil bit the seller.

Go ahead and buy something else but if you are serious about wood carving you'll end up buying these eventually. May as well just spend a bit extra now to get exactly what you want in a gouge/chisel set that will last forever. You can pass these things down to your grandchildren they are built so well. They come sharp as can be as well. Wonderful product that does exactly what it it supposed to. ... show more

I've been carving for over five years and never had the money for real good chisels or knives. For Christmas my wife bought me this Intermediate set of 7 PFEIL chisels. I cannot believe the difference, I had always bought name brands knives and chisels which were as good as I could afford but they don't even hold a candle to the PFEILs. These are fantastic, cut without forcing or driving, effortlessly and accurately. Frankly, I don't know how PFEIL got them so sharp! Best Christmas gift I got. Now, I've got to save my money and acquire a knife or two. Unbelievable! Love em! ... show more

Just Awesome wood carving tools I have ever owned.You can feel the quality with each tool as it cuts through wood like butter.I will be adding more of the Pfeil tools to my tool chest in the future.
