  • Made in France, this unique mill is 4-inches tall and made with beechwood.
  • The Salt mechanism is made of stainless steel and is not sensitive to salt corrosion. The Peugeot salt mechanism is designed to grind cooking salt
  • To get the best out of your Peugeot salt grinding mechanism, you should use: salt with a diameter of 4 mm (3/16") or less; dry coarse salt: dry Sea salt or rock salt

  • Lifetime Limited on the mechanism and 5 years on the exterior of the Mill. Use a soft lightly damp cloth to clean

Description

With its first table pepper mill, created in 1874, Peugeot marked its entry into the world of Gastronomy. A reinterpretation of this historic model, The Bistro mill, representative of Peugeot expertise, has over the years become the essential mill in cafes. The Bistro antique salt mill is produced in aged beech wood. Each item is unique and worked by hand with the greatest delicacy to restore the charm of a patina of age. When freshly ground at the last moment, the spices give all their aromas. This is why Peugeot created an exclusive mechanism, specifically suitable for each spice. Peugeot salt crushing mechanism features two ribbed plates which work to fracture and crush coarse, dry sea salt to a consistent size. The salt grinding mechanism is made of corrosion resistant stainless steel, and is found on every Peugeot salt mill. Only use dry, coarse salts that are 4 mm (0, 16 in. ) or smaller I it comes with a lifetime and provides a perfect grinding result. As an additional feature, you can adjust the coarseness of your salt using the knob, with an aged appearance, located on the head of these two mills. The tighter it is screwed in, The finer the grind. A tribute to the charms of the past, The Bistro antique salt mill will enhance your table and your kitchen, with a natural, gentle and authentic atmosphere.

  • Great little grinders
Very cute, work perfectly. Have one at each end of the table in easy reach of my guests, plus an extra by the stove in easy reach of the cook, which is me. I know the trend is to tall, tall pepper grinders, but I like going in the opposite direction from trends, and these little guys mimic the classic shape, plus the Peugeot logo impresses my (I guess shallow) friends who are brand-name snobs I have set them for a very fine grind, and everyone seems to like it. I mix black-and-white peppercorns, and store my bulk supply of them in a cool place using a vacuum-sealed canister. Another reason for small grinders -- peppercorns will stale in a few months at normal room temperature, so it's really good that these hold only a small amount; I waste very little and don't have the hassle of emptying them. ... show more

  • Plastic Compenents
It's not the same as the picture. It isn't labeled with a P as described and it has plastic parts inside. I ordered this over the new model because it's supposed to be all metal. There are several factory imperfections, some of them pass for character, some don't.
