This was supposed to replace an older plastic version which cracked after 30+ years. Even though same height as old one, the grinding know is smaller and slippery -- particularly when cooking. Best used for table serving, especially since it looks great.

I've had some bad luck with pepper mills. Some haven't quite been worth the purchase. I've had this for a bit now and so far it's going well. It works as it should and is putting out a nice grind. I hope it will last long term.
