I like how easy these are to setup so that was a plus. The material seems a bit thin for a 100lb Doberman but the size was right. The pad at the bottom was cheap and would have been eaten by my dog so I put it inside a zipper bed cover I had for him and then put that in the crate; now I can unzip and wash the cover. I wish these had some places on the outside to tied this down in the rear of the SUV as this can slide around even though it has small rubber feet on the bottom. The material could be thicker and more durable but so far so good. It makes zero squeaking sounds while driving unlike a metal or plastic crate would. It is a bit shorter than most crates this size which is a big plus for putting in the back of an SUV as it does not block the rear view in my Honda Pilot. Measure your trunk is my advice. I like how breathable this is as it lets air flow from all sides pretty much. My do stretches out and takes a nap easily in this. When he stands up I am crossing my fingers he doesn't rip the material but so far so good. If your dog chews through things then forget about this as this can be chewed through in seconds and doesn't require Houdini. ... show more

I’m not the strongest person in the world, but this isn’t the first travel kennel I’ve bought and it was a fight to get it set up. I bought this one because my dog is handicapped and this kennel opens from the side so it’s easier for him to get in, and I do like it for that purpose. Traditional kennels are too heavy to move around and travel kennels like these work better for me. But I’m keeping his other travel kennel for when we actually travel. ... show more

We love it so much we bought 2! fits great in my husbands truck and in my car, easy to get our corgi to the vet, to the office or to take road trips. I got the large size and it is not hard to carry. Very well made and sturdy. Have not used it yet. Just set it up in house so dog could get used to it before dog shows. Nice rubber pads on the bottom.

    • Alternative to the hard metal kennels

The metal/steel kennel/cages for some reason give me anxiety so I was looking for a softer, less restrictive alternative for crating my puppy at night. I love this thing. I leave the top open and my puppy sleeps much better through the night. I can also easily reach down and pet him to calm him down if needed. Mesh is not easy to tear, my dog chews on it and still no holes. My puppy is small, but yes he can jump out with the top open, but he chooses to stay in. ... show more

    • NOT FOR PUPPIES!

My 3 month & 3 week old puppy (mixed breed) Figured out how to push her nose between the zipper handles where they meet and force it open. Came home and she was loose! Additionally, She opened the zipper on the included bed and started eating the (very thin) foam inside. I sewed the zipper handle in place thinking that would solve the problem but she got the zipper apart anyway (without moving the zipper handle). Also, today I came home and she had ROLLED THE CRATE! It was upside down with her in it! I would reccommend you not use this for a puppy who is just learning crate training. If you have a dog who is used to crates then they would probably be fine. I initially bought this product for traveling. When those plans fell through I just left the kennel in my car. My dog got sick a few weeks ago and was blind. I was watching Jim crying and bumping into things and I remembered the kennel. He felt safe and secure and I was able to reach into the kennel with ease to comfort him.
