Having traveled with both this kennel and our all-metal folding kennel, this is far superior for travel purposes. It is easier to handle and lighter, and for the same 'footprint' it is a little shorter than our conventional kennel, which makes it easier to fit in both your car trunk and in whatever lodgings your travels brings you to. The kennel seems to be very well made, and I like the tension rod mechanism they use - you simply line up two rods, and then turn the ends of those rods to tighten the frame of the kennel and take up any slack in the fabric. It is an elegant design that works well and the kennel feels tight and solid when assembled. Folding the kennel up is OK, but there is only one handle so you can't really carry it 'straight up and down' - it is always dangling at an angle from that handle. Having a matching handle on the other side of the folded assembly would make carrying a little better, and make it intuitive as to which two sides fold together. If it could be engineered to allow a little extra 'room' at the bottom so you could leave a pad in there, that would be excellent as well. I was able to get it folded up with our 'travel bed' still in the base, but it felt a little tight, and I wonder if doing that long-term might lead to some damage or stretching. While this is ideal for travel, I don't think I'd recommend it as your only kennel. While the fabric seems to be high quality, I cannot imagine how fabric would hold up as well as painted steel wire. It's also a lot easier to sanitize a metal kennel. Another 'great for travel but maybe not for everyday' feature is that it is also not quite as big as the same "size" metal kennel (lower ceiling) - it makes life easier on the move, but when we're at home I like the fact that our other kennel has a bit more headroom. I would absolutely buy this again, and recommend it to friends.

Easy to set up. Multiple entries into it. Our dog had no problems in getting in and sleeping soundly through the night. It’s light weight, easily carried but seems sturdy for an active pup.

I purchased this crate for my 30lb dog to use during travel. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. It was very easy to set up. It took less than 5 minutes. The posts swing out, fit into an opposing slot, and you twist to tighten. I purchased this model for the larger posts and it was sturdy. To my knowledge, my dog doesn't try to escape crates though. Definitely would recommend to a friend.

We adopted a 6-8 year old 14 lb dog shortly before going on vacation to the beach. We needed a way to separate him from our existing dog on the car ride and give either of them a place to retreat. This was perfect! Lightweight yet sturdy, has handles in case we needed to carry it, top or side entry. We put his bed in the bottom and he was very comfortable on the back seat of the car. We could have gotten a smaller carrier but wanted the option to use it for our 18 lb, much taller, dog as well if needed. We won't be using it as much in the future so very happy it folds down. We've had rigid plastic carriers before and never could find a good place to store them. This one will be a breeze.

This crate was recommended by 2 of our friends with dogs. It is super light and portable, and the dark screen made our dog feel secure inside. It is quick and easy to set up and folds up nicely for storage and transport. The zipper track on ours ripped when our dog came running out of the crate when letting him out. The crate is not really usable when this happens. The company was great and refunded us even though it was after our return period. The process was easy to get a refund and we are very grateful for them being so generous. It is worth 5 stars if our first one hadn't gotten a small tear. We are getting another one with the refunded money. If you get it, make sure your dog won't try to break out when being zipped in or out.

Every need was met for my 4 hr trip picking up our new cairn terrier pup. We got the 26”, after adding blankets he still had plenty of room and still after he is an adult. It fit well in the passenger seat of my ford ranger. The structured walls are perfectly supported. No trouble with any of zippers. Great crate and vehicle use.

My dog travels with me to work Monday thru Friday, so I need a durable crate that's easy to set up and take down. This crate looks well made. In theory, it should be a great crate. In use, it's horrible. The sales visuals make setup look easy: just open the folding tubes and twist the tensioning ends in place. Maybe so for the small sizes, but for the larger sizes inside an SUV, setup is torture. I have to crawl halfway into the crate and contort my body to find and release the folding tubes from their Velcro shackles, then struggle to match up the tensioning ends with the sockets. Because the canvas shell wraps around the tubing on two sides, there's no room for my fingers to twist the tensioning end to make the fabric taught. It's a tedious process, times two. Worst folding-frame mechanism ever. When I unboxed this crate, I recognized the mesh used in this crate from another poor experience and I should have sent it back immediately. But I foolishly thought the mesh may have been improved. It hasn't. Chewing isn't the issue. My dog enjoys riding in her crate, whether on short trips to work or long, cross-country trips to Grandma's house. But when we arrive at our destination, she is ready to get out, RIGHT NOW! Despite my scolding, her natural response is to paw at the crate door until I can get out and unzip the door to release her. The flimsy mesh on this crate is no match for her nails and she tore a hole in it on our second trip. If your hands are the size of a typical adult's hands, do not buy this crate. There are easier-to-use folding-frames out there. If your dog has an exuberant personality, do not buy this crate. There are crates made with stronger mesh out there. As for me, I'm still searching for the holy grail that is the perfect folding travel crate.
