These were extremely well packaged with a sturdy outside box and product box inside. They were already assembled so all I did was put down the self adhesive carpet pads on the stairs. I am having surgery soon and needed something to help my little rescue Chug (Chihuahua-Pug) get on the bed for the night and back down in the morning. I have been carrying her around but surgery prevents me from continuing this. She would have been so devastated if she couldn't sleep with her mommy so when I saw these stairs on Amazon's Black Friday sale, I quickly ordered them. Little 10 lb, dog is so food motivated that it only took two times for her to understand what was expected of her. She's still a bit shaky going down. These stairs are going to be a huge help even after surgery. They are so very well made and the only thing I can say is they weigh about the same as my little dog! They fold up so my robot vacuum isn't bothered by them and so my little dog also doesn't spend the day sleeping on my bed. She has her own bed for day naps! It took no time at all to introduce her to the joys of getting up on the bed herself. It was really fun watching her learn too. This is a wonderful price for a wonderfully made product. I bought this for my Boxer who started having a hard time jumping into the back seat of my Jeep. I have a ramp but I wanted her in the back seat and the ramp was to long plus would not attach to anything in the back seat. When this arrived, I got her use to it by having her climb up to the bed. She was a little hesitant on the first couple of tries but then got brave. It fits perfect when the back door to my Jeep is open. First time again she was hesitant but then tried it. Now, taking her with me is so easy and she is no longer shows any fear. Works perfect. So far so good. Will update this with pictures shortly. ... show more

My 11-year-old cat recently stopped jumping on pretty much everything. She used to sleep with us in bed every single night but wouldn't anymore. If I put her on the bed she'd stay and hang out, but if she jumped down later she wouldn't get back up. After taking her to the vet we discovered she has arthritis in her back. We ordered these stairs to try and help her get up and down like she used to. The afternoon they arrived I put them next to the bed and she stared at them with suspicion. I lured her down and about halfway up using treats, but that only worked once. Then she wouldn't even touch it. I put catnip on the steps and added some of her favorite toys, and in the middle of the night I woke up to find her purring next to my head! All she'd needed was a little quiet time to herself to figure out how to use them. Now that she knows, she goes up and down them regularly. I was worried the steps might be too steep for her because she has short little legs in front, but she doesn't seem bothered by them at all now that she's used to it. We're going to get a smaller set of steps for next to the couch. She's acting happier than she has in weeks, and we couldn't be more thrilled! Just one caveat. The stairs slide a little on our (fake) hardwood. Not real bad, but if she goes up and down them a lot they shift to the side or push away from the bed. The tiny bumpers they arrived with came off almost as soon as we put them on. They're seriously teensy, anyway, and I'm not sure they do much good. I put a welcome mat under the steps for now. It has a rubber back and seems to help prevent sliding a bit, but I'm going to look for some better anti-slip pads later today. As of now, the slipping isn't bad enough to deter her or us, and I'm sure there's a simple fix for this. So I still recommend these steps. They were the only ones to read up to our high storage bed. Edit: I went to Home Depot and bought some rectangular bumpers that fit the legs of the steps better than the round ones that came with it. However, even these new bumpers refused to stick. So we superglued them. Now they seem very secure and haven't budged since. ... show more
