I’ve had the sprayer for just over three years now. I love it. The capacity means I can usually fill it once to treat all of my raised beds for weeds. The backpack style is so much easier to carry. I also love that I don’t have to constantly stop to pump it and I can adjust the spray to the volume and pattern I need. I had a problem with it today. It was going to be my first use this year. I got it changed up the day before. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t spray. I went through some troubleshooting online and then decided to call tech support. I was connected to Christina via chat and she was quickly able to determine that the battery was defective. When asked about getting a replacement battery, Christina informed me that it was out of warranty but she would be sending me a replacement battery free of charge. I was pleasantly surprised that she would do that. Talk about a gift! She processed the replacement order quickly and let me know I would have the battery within 3-5 business days. Christina was very helpful, courteous and professional. If I could give more stars to this review, I would. I’m happy that I purchased this sprayer and I’m very grateful that the company stands by its product and their customer’s satisfaction. Thank you Christina and Petra Tools. Top notch in every regard!

Have only used it once and it worked great to spray for baggie bugs in y’all green giants. Hoping to have for a long time without issues. I bought this brand just because if folks who did have issue had great customer service and helped with parts or replacement.

Great Purchase

I've had the Petra HD 3000 sprayer for over 3 years as of this writing. I'm very happy with it even though there have been a few issues. I had to replace the sprayer wand after the first summer. Just plan on that cost as part of your purchase price. I think for such a good quality and thoughtful design, they should just offer that option as an upgrade. I also had to replace the pump. I probably didn't drain the unit as carefully as I should have. From then on, I add a bit of antifreeze before winter and shoot it through. The pump was fairly inexpensive and very easy to replace. I really like that I can service the sprayer. This year, I found that the clamp down nut for the hose to pump connect had failed. Not sure why since the sprayer was winterized. The hose does not have a strain relief clamp and I think that over time, pulling on the hose stressed it. The nut could certainly be a bit beefier. I will try to add something to provide strain relief when I replace the nut. About the nut: I could not match it with any plumbing thread available at a well-stocked hardware - not IP, not compression, not flare. It seems like it has a 1.5mm pitch. I contacted Petra and they very quickly found a couple of the nuts and are mailing them out to me! Thank you Anne and Chloe for wonderful customer service.

As a 67 year old widow I have learned to do yard work, and the thing I hated most was spraying weeds. I have a pretty large property with about 1/2 acre nothing but dirt and I forgot to put down pre-emergent this year so the weeds came in horribly. I found my husband's old sprayer and it had nice cushioned straps - but it was not easy to use because you had to pump it Well it stopped working so I found this jewel and ordered it. I had ordered other back sprayers and for price not comfort and that was a mistake. After using the cushioned straps I was looking for something that would be closer to that and this has nice comfortable straps and a cushioned back so it is comfortable to use. First let me say that it is well thought out and easy to handle - because they made a handle on the top of it so you can actually carry it instead of hug it and lug it around. Very nice touch if you ask me. Anyway...I used the shower head to spray the weeds and it went so quick. I went out the next day looking forward to spray again but I realized that I had turned the area that holds the fuse and it fell off. I called the customer service line and talked to Christina , and explained to her that I did something stupid, and she was so nice and helpful. She sent me out a replacement knob and fuse at no cost to me, even though it was my own fault and registered my sprayer since I had not done so yet . So I can honestly say that I look forward to spraying weeds now. I HIGHLY recommend this sprayer. **UPDATE **. I knew I loved this sprayer and that the customer service is amazing and but in today’s world it’s hard to find a company that caters to their customers like this one. I had my fuse cover and a replacement fuse in just a few days along with a bright pair of orange gloves. Thank you Christina !!

Decent tool but doesn't last

I bought this sprayer (HD3000) when I was renovating my front lawn. I got it in august of 2023. Immediately out of the box I attempted to perform the priming action but it failed. I called the company (Petra) and had a very nice representative walk me through an alternate priming method in which water is injected with a hose directly into the inlet inside the tank to prime. This worked very well. I was mostly happy with the unit over the fall. Between killing the old lawn, treating the dirt and spraying various other treatments in the back yard, I used the unit perhaps 10 times. One persistent problem I had with it was that the place where the hose attached to the wand would leak. This happened the first time I used it, I tightened the connection and it would be fine for a bit and then start again. Annoying but not a deal breaker. The final use I made of it in the fall, I was getting leaking from the base, down my rear end. I hadn't noticed this occurring before, however it turns out that was some level of leak for some time because the leaking fluid showed traces of the dye that I stopped using around the 4 usage of the sprayer. This was a little more alarming but I figured I would deal with it in the spring. I dried it out, per the instructions, and set the unit aside in my basement (climate controlled) so that I wouldn't be exposing it to the temperature fluctuations in the garage. I got it out to use last weekend (late Feb 2024). I charged it up overnight, got it out in the morning and primed it with warm slightly soapy water. Rolled the power switch and all I got a high pitched whine. I checked, the indicator lights on the front which showed that the battery was charged and turned off the unit. I emptied out the tank and attempted the alternate priming procedure that I was walked through before with the hose spraying directly into the inlet, I can see that water is flowing through the system because it's dripping out the end of the wand (trigger squeezed, power off). I turn on the pump again, high pitched whining noise, the pump motor is dead. I disassemble the unit to pinpoint the whining noise and it is coming directly from the pump motor. There is also rust covering the mounting screws and blue dye all over the inside of the case. This unit only comes with a 3 month warranty. I've got a call into Petra Tools to see if I can buy a replacement pump to put back into the unit and I'll report back on whether I can get it and how much it'll cost. I'd much sooner bypass Petra Tools and buy the pump from somewhere else, but the specs labelled on the pump (12V, 1A, 2.6LPM, 90PSI) don't conform to any pump that I can find elsewhere on the net. The other 12V 2.6LPM pumps are rated above 2A and have lower pressure ratings. I suppose I could give it a shot, and I might, depending on what I hear from the Petra. Edit: The pump from Petra, cost $35, with a $15 shipping and handling charge. $50 for replacement of the major part of the tool that broke with less than one year of usage. The cost of $35 is a little high considering that similar pumps are available on ALI for a small fraction of that. Only covering the unit for 3 months warranty is absurd, the fact that it broke so soon shows that the part is garbage in the first place.

****UPDATE**** You can continue below to read my initial review, but I wanted to post an update. Having initially loved this product, it stopped working, and customer service techs were a nightmare. I left an honest and fair review and continued to call for help. No one on tech support would help, but Mikki, who answers the phones stepped up. She read my review (and from our many calls she knew my problem with the sprayer). She replaced it! 100%. Sent out what appears to be an upgraded/newer model of the one I had. I immediately opened up the part that was malfunctioning on the other one, only to see that the design is new and improved. Where the connection from the holding tank goes into the battery/pump compartment is much better now, with much less chance at leakage which will clearly damage the battery and pump. Kudos to Petra for recognizing the flaw and working to fix it. Kudos to Mikki who made sure that I remained a satisfied customer! I have 15 acres with tons of weeds to kill…gravel roads, planter beds, unwanted shrubs, you name it. For years now I have struggled with the sprayers that come with the weed killer and ground clear, having to drag the bottle from place to place and hand pump it to pressurize, or use the even more expensive battery powered ones that never seem to work. So I was excited to finally purchase this 3 gallon back pack sprayer, which made my life so much easier, until it didn’t. It initially worked great, and I loved it so much! I hadn’t yet ever had to recharge it. I was able to but less expensive concentrates and mix up large loads of ground clear and the sprayer made quick work of the task. When not in use, it was empty and dry, stored back indoors in the original box. The last time I took it out (2 weeks ago), it wouldn’t work, not a peep, so I assumed it was time to charge it. First time since I bought it so I wasn’t concerned. I plugged it in overnight and the next day, nothing. Just a bare whine, but no pressure, no spraying. I emptied out the weed killer and dried out the canister, then proceeded to troubleshoot it as described in the website. The battery connections looked good, and the charger had a green light saying the battery was good to go. So I opened up the bottom, only to find that the tube connecting the sprayer to the holding tank came off easily, because the hose clamp wasn’t tight enough. And because of that there was moisture in the electrical part of the sprayer, with rust showing around the tube and clamp. I checked all of the connections I could see, dried out the compartment and tried again. Still nothing. So I called the company. And called. And left messages which were never returned, and called again. I finally got someone on the phone who agreed it was a leaky connection, and suggested that I charge it again and then call back. Which I did , but it went to voicemail. I left a message. And then it was the 4th of July weekend so no one was working there, even on the Tuesday. I purchased a new battery for $35 and tried that today. It didn’t work. So clearly something else is wrong, and no one will return the calls for help or even answer the phone in tech support. I’ve sent an email about this issue through the website as well, but I won’t hold out hope. I now have a $150 doorstop, and have a $35 battery to return to batteries +. Avoid this company. This product is only 8 months old and treated with care. It should work, or they should help repair it. It has failed on both counts

My Pain Savior

I’m very proud of myself finally getting a good sprayer to save me from more injuries. Taking care of 200 + roses is a hectic job when it comes to disease control. I used a manual 2 gallon sprayer from other brand which I thought was pretty good, but soon after two uses my arms and neck gave in. Somehow the algorithm recommended power sprayers prompted me into research and found the Petrotool brand. Considered the price and size wise I thought HD3000 will be a good choice for me. I was right ! This sprayer is heavy because of the motor. Adding 3 gal of liquid is the limit I can handle. I need to refill once to cover every rose (in pots.) and a few other plants. There’s a power switch. When first on it makes a loud humming noise, it becomes quiet when you start to spray. Spraying is easy and the mist is even and fine, you can adjust the strength of spray using the rotary power nob. When it’s on the fullest power you can spray far and wide , super cool 😎. The harness is quite comfortable but because of the weight of the container, I have to set the whole thing on the table to “wear” it and set it down again back on the table when it’s done to avoid more injuries. It saves so much time and energy to pump and spray, free up my left arm so I can spray alternately with hands. I can say that I actually can spray my garden with joy. Btw, 100% organic gardening here 😇. The sprayer requires some easy assembling. Unfortunately the manual is not very helpful so I checked out youTube for helps. It also requires some priming, again the manual is definitely not helping. I followed the instructions to find it just waste of your battery power. All you need to do is fill the tank with 1 gallon of water and till to one side (if one side not working try the other side.) It works right away instead of what the manufacturer suggestion of 30 minutes 🤯. Clean the tank is not too hard because of the power. I recommend this product. Note: After a few uses, winter came so I left my sprayer in my working studio and forgot about it. When I picked it up again in May, the sprayer stopped while using only after a few minutes. I could not get it started whatsoever. I called the company hotline, "Anne" helped me went through the problem, ( thank you, Anne 😊) she figured the battery must be dead. I was very confused because it's new and used a few times only. Anne quickly sent me a new battery, free of charge. Turned out the battery was corroded 🙄... so we cleaned the plates then installed the new battery, it started working well again. It worked hard for the whole summer so far, now it's time for it's winter "dormancy " again, I hope all is well. I appreciate how this company stands for its products and offers excellent customer service 🫡 🤗.
