  • Great purchase.
Purchased several years ago for 50# dog. It still is in great condition, even being outside full time. Would buy again.

  • Excellent With A Little Creativity
I did not find it hard to snap. They must have addressed that. However, mindful of comments regarding leaks, I put it together with a little construction adhesive to solve both issues. Also, I used the adhesive to cover it with a mylar space blanket to keep her warm in winter and cool in summer. After installing the space cover, I realized (see photos which would not load with proper orientation, sorry) I realized I had two options for usage. Either as a doggie house or a sattalite communication device. Having absent-mindedly misplaced my space shuttle and launch pad, I elected for the former. (lol) Packaging left a lot to be desired, simply a cardboard box. The canopy was slightly shattered. Construction adhesive worked there as well. Who cares about looks? Not my doggie. All she cares about is her STE ("Stable Temperature Environment") and her HPS ("Hydro-static Protection System") in her FLH ("Flexible Location Habitat"). :) ... show more

  • This dog house is a good deal for the price
This seems sturdy enough for my dog not to destroy it, but give her time... The plastic is not as thick as other dog houses I have had, such as a dogloo, but not as thin as I expected (things just get cheaper in time). This is a "large" dog house, which says it is for dogs 50 - 90 pounds. My dog is around 75 pounds and I could not imagine a dog much larger being comfortable in this. My dog has to crouch down to get in and out, however, she can get in and turn around. My dog is not too fond of this dog house, but this is not the fault of the product. My dog is a rescue and it does not appear she previously had a dog house since she will only go in for treats I toss in there. She prefers to drag her bed out and sleep on the ground (under a patio cover). I have this dog house raised off the ground (on a pallet with a solid top). I may need a second one for her to sleep on if she will not go in the dog house. What's nice about this dog house is that it is easy to take apart. It just comes apart in the middle. The huge and expensive dogloo we had was so difficult to take apart that I never did. I would tip it and hose it out. All in all, I think this dog house is a good deal for the price. ... show more

  • Works good
This works well. I’ve had it for a few years for my medium, 30 pound dog. The only thing is that it comes apart every once in a while, so I recommend maybe nailing the two pieces together. She uses it and fits in and it’s prettt sturdy.

  • great choice for older dog
We had an igloo that worked well for many years, but as our lab got older she needed something with a higher opening so she didn't have to crouch down to get in and out and enough space to be able to stretch her legs out while lying on her side. This accomplished both things.

  • Mine is great.
Before buying I read a bunch of 1-star ratings to be informed, and got worried of reports of the halves not snapping together and open gaps on the lid's rim that let water in. Some have sealed the rear vent due to water intrusion as well. No such case with the one I received, so apparently the manufacturer has fixed some design and manufacturing issues. Mine snapped together easily and it stays snapped together and there are no open lid rim gaps for water to enter. After sitting on my back patio last night through three hours of rainstorms, there was only a few drops of water inside. Big success. That said, the dog is still unsure of it so it may take a lot of treats to get her to warmed up to the idea of a dog house. She sleeps inside at night, but I though this would be a nice place for her to hang in the daytime from time to time. ... show more

  • Biggest bang for your buck
I had wood dog houses at twice the price. They did not keep the rain out very well and eventually wore out from the Texas elements. So after seeing how well my possum house worked out for several years and researching many molded dog houses for the best buy I got two large Petbarn 3 houses for my Chihuahua and schnauzer. They are far less expensive (almost half) and keep the rain, snow and wind out much better. I put flap doors on them and with the dog beds and blankets the houses retained the dogs body heat during sub freezing temperatures. I was able to snap them together and apart for easy cleaning. The PetBarn 3 is very cost effective, durable, turnkey solution for pet shelter. ... show more

  • Sturdy and well made for the price
Our White German Shepherd would squeeze herself into the medium-size dog house we have on the deck. Our dogs are in the house when we aren't home, but we like to have varies shelter areas when they are out. It took a few days for her to realize that she had more space in the new one, but she still couldn't help going into the smaller one to annoy our other dog who loves that house. Our sheltie wants no part of it, and our other dog is almost 14 and only goes outside to go potty. This is a very nice dog house. It didn't leak during the hard rainstorm we had the other day. This is a great dog house for the price. Came on the earlier side of the promised range. No cracks or defects. Highly recommend. ... show more
