I would first like to say I recieved this as a promotional but my review is 100% my own. The left is the Max 3 and the right is the Max Pro 2. They are pretty much the same size but just different opening placements. Works as intended and my kittens love it! I think that people would like it especially if you already have a camera to watch the litter box so you can see if they peed or pooed. If you are on a budget, I would definately reccomend this model especially if you don't care about their deoderizing features. Pros: - low to the floor (for the max pro 2 I use a scratcher to make it easier for my kittens to go inside but for the max 3 I don't need to) - wide opening - always stops when kittens are inside, peeking in, and on top of the spinning cylinder - easy to do touch up cleaning - weight tracking is fairly accurate as long as your cats arent jumping on the machine like my kittens do (can be an issue if you have cats that have nearly similar weights) [for reference my kittens are 7 and 5.5 lbs] - not smelly even without the n60 plugin - fairly similar to the pro max 2 (see cons to see differences) - the ani leak and scratch pad is very durable and is very easy to clean even with soft poo Cons: - this specific model doesn't come with the n60 plug deoderizer plug in. You need to buy the premium to have it pre installed or order your piece through customer service and paypal. I feel it should be clearer in the product description and title. - no camera - no light

Beware of misleading description. This unit is described as “odor-free” and yet I’m now informed by Petkit that it is the “standard” version (at $429 that is hardly standard) and to get the odor eliminator feature you must spend another $50 to buy it separately since you didn’t get the “upgraded” version where it is included. Turns out that “upgraded” version (now that I know what to look for) is actually only $399 from another seller and it is described as “odor-controlling”. What a crock! Obviously I made the mistake of not being able to fully decipher their nonsense so I’m hoping you’ll benefit from my experience. Overall, it’s an okay self-cleaning unit but here are the catches that make it not a good value in the end: - the N50 deodorant that goes in the waste bin is NOT SUFFICIENT to even “control” the odor, much less make it an “odor-free” unit as described; to get the additional N60 case and a 3-pack of cartridges you’ll spend another $80 (and yet to see if that even makes a difference) - the liner immediately begins to get soiled and crusty; to resolve that they’ll happily sell you the enhanced liner ($43) - the step height and angle is not as easy as described for senior or disabled cats; shell out more $$$ for the step - don’t even get me started on the cost of the refill supplies (liners and proprietary odor inserts) Bottom line - wouldn’t recommend and regret going down this expensive rabbit hole all for a litter box!

Ya’ll, I’m a first time cat owner and boy was I focused on getting my litter box game right. I went through 2 months of…let’s say it nicely: pure inconvenience with other robots and litter. After so much research, a serious budget consideration, and a non negotiable desire for a warranty because I’m seeing err’body cant put together plastic and a motor and call it a product, I settled on this. Yall, I got home tonight and literally pulled out the drawer to see if my cat was actually doing her business cuz I smelled nothing. Like nooooothing. Ok enough talking here’s the super combo: the n50 which came with it (no I didn’t buy the n60 extra part whatever), Elsey’s Ultra Unscented, and the secret weapon- plug in ionizers. Yooooooo. That one litter box from ‘you know where’ with built in ionizer taught me that the technology works. It was one of the features I was looking for in a robot but to no avail within my price range. Amazon AI was who introduced me to these plug in things. Not only does it not smell like cat. My basement apartment no longer has that stuffy all odors locked in with nowhere to go scent. Amazing!! The litter box looks great, and I think my cat likes it in there cuz she has space to do her business. And the pee litter doesn’t stick to the pad which was an issue with the other robots. No leakage that I see or smell. The value is great and with the two year warranty, I’m ok with however long it lasts. This robot and my cat are a match made in heaven! Ok update cuz we’re always LEARNING! Plug in ionizers need to be ozone safe so you gotta look for a HEPA safe one. Ozone free!

Overall good. But *read carefully* which features come with each of their many models or you may be disappointed. This model does not include the Easy Breezy deodorizer device, even though it has the connections for it. Be aware also that it differentiates between cats only by weight, so if your cats weigh about the same... then you will not get individualized information. It does not have a camera. A good basic model; included features work as described.

Our cats actually prefer this litter box to the ordinary one we've used for years. It's a very nice convenience to have a litter box that I don't have to clean several times each day. We have three cats and we have to empty the litter bin in the PETKIT Purobot every 5 days or so. It doesn't smell bad at all, but that's not the thing I like most about it - it's really the convenience that is making us consider purchasing another one for upstairs.

So far the machine works well and I had it a little less than a week. As for the odor, it is pretty much the same as having a regular litter box. IMPORTANT NOTE: this particular unit does not come with the deodorizer that helps keep the odor out. It is completely missing the plastic piece that has a place underneath the lid which would house the blue deodorizer pods. I completely understand that the refillable deodorizer pods would be sold separately and something that I would need to purchase continuously just like the trash bags that fit inside the machine. But to just not include the actual hardware that goes on the machine so that you can put the deodorizer pods inside of them is extremely frustrating. It’s like they left out a vital piece of what made me buy this particular one in the first place. After speaking with AI multiple times which is their customer service, I finally received an email stating that this version in fact does not include this part and I would need to purchase it for an additional $50 and get it shipped from China. All I would need to do is send money to a random PayPal account which I thought was very odd and unfortunately you can’t find this piece anywhere else sold separately. So buyers definitely beware.

I was psyched to start using this thing. Waited almost a week for it to arrive. My cats were very interested! But from the moment I got it out of the box it was making a grinding/clicking noise., Pet Kit was great at helping troubleshoot and determining pretty quickly, that there seems to be something wrong with the motor. They approved a return, but here’s where they lost four stars. This thing is huge. That’s one of the best things about it, however, when you have to load it up back into the box and get it into your car unless you have a ginormous vehicle or pick up truck it’s just not going to fit. I ultimately having to load it in my car in pieces with the box collapsed, to take to UPS and I’ll just have to put it all together there. I tried to do that today, but was about 30 minutes late and the store was closed. 😭 So it’s a huge hassle to return. I would expect there to be some kind of option for UPS to pick it up instead of me having to take it to UPS. I want to order another one to replace this one, but honestly, this whole hassle with the return has soured me somewhat on the brand. It has a nice large opening, though, and my big 13 pound cat fit inside easily with his 4lb kitten buddy! Lol they were ready to go unfortunately they never got the chance. Also, a couple of sidenote, this is cheaper on Amazon, but it doesn’t come with the N 60 air freshener piece. Although you can add that later yourself if you want to, and they’re not hard to get, you can buy them here on Amazon. If you get the unit from the PETKIT website, it is about $30 more, but it comes with a lot more stuff, including the N 60, and they do offer free shipping so it’s almost better to get it from there then from Amazon. I didn’t care for the smell of the N 50 air purifier. My daughter said it smells like a public restroom.

Oh this is so good. Self cleaning is the way to go. Easy to start up. I put some poo in it from the old box and changed the timer to 5 minutes after kitty leaves so she will not get frightened. Perfect. Update, 1 week in and the 2 cats i have are using this litter box without issues. Although it was a stretch to get my first automatic cleaning litter box, now I wonder why I waited so long. Additional tip, the first night I set it up i unplugged it so it would not startle my cats. I recently adopted and the new boy is skittish. Then the next day I set the cleaning cycle for 5 min after kitty is done with business. The are not in the area then when it cycles. I have 2 litter boxes now, one is an old fashioned one and now the second is PETKIT Purobot max 3. I cannot wait to get another max 3. Its so much less stressful when I do cleaning. *Important tip: As I have 2 adult cats I found found it best to empty the waste bin every 3-4 days as it fills up fast.
