I have 3 outdoor cats. I have a screened porch with a shelf that I have set up for the cats. I put a thin blanket over the pads (2) as a thin barrier between the cats and pads. In 30degrees F or colder I use these in addition to a heat lamp that fits on the side of the ling and wide shelf. They seem to enjoy it and stay warm. I really needed this tonight but it doesn't work. I plugged it in and waited and eventually turned the heat all the way up and barely feel any heat at all. I would say the highest setting is not even warm. I'm getting a replacement sent to me so fingers crossed that the next one actually works!!

My kitty loves it, he lays on it even when it's not on. For that, I give the product 5 stars.. Yet, when I turn the mat on, and wait for it to warm up, it doesn't really get that warm. At first I used the first temp setting (80ish) and that wasn't warm at all, then I went up a notch (90ish) and it still wasn't warm, so I went up again (101ish) and I still felt it wasn't warm enough. BUT I guess the mat's temp + my kitty's regular body temp, it was satisfactory for him. So, he if likes it, I love it. Again, still wouldn't repurchase this one if I needed another warming mat. ... show more

I plugged in for one hour & tested temperature which tested by heat gun & tested 105-129 degrees Fahrenheit. I appreciate the timer & temperature settings. For an outdoor feral cats I appreciate the temperature. Could fit more than one cat. I plan on buying another one because our winters are cold
