Assembly of the frame and clipping the carrier into the frame are both very easy and intuitive! I used it for the first time today and it took me just a few seconds and we were ready to go! The design is super intuitive and everything is easy to use. I had the standard soft carriers before these and my cats would run away whenever they saw them. They only have enough room for the cats to lie down in them, which isn't comfortable. By contrast, I set both of these new carriers out a couple of weeks ago and they both like to sleep in them! They have enough room to comfortably sit and curl up in whatever position they want, which helps make vet visits and car rides way less stressful. I took Mouse to the vet today and even though she hates the vet, the entire visit went much more smoothly than usual because of the new carrier. The vet was able to get her in and out easily, and even do her checkup while she was inside the carrier because it is so roomy and has an open design. When we got back from her appointment, Mouse took a nap in the carrier. She is usually very stressed after the vet and will hide in the closet for about an hour, but she was her usual self after about 10 minutes this time. Truly, this is the best carrier out there. The only thing I would say is a "negative" is that this carrier is a bit heavier than a standard carrier, and a little more bulky, so carrying it around is a little inconvenient, but honestly it's not a big deal at all. Considering the significant stress reduction for us band also the increased car safety and ease of use, I'd say it's more than worth it! If you aren't sure about buying this, or if you have a pet who gets stressed out by being in a carrier, I'd say definitely do it. I love this thing. I’ve gone full crazy cat lady but also this has made everything so convenient. My cat is 16 and has arthritis. She also tries to take everyone’s head off at the vet because she’s so anxious and stressed. Because she’s too old to put under, we’ve started doing “drive-by” visits, the vet and a few techs come out to examine her and give her the monthly booty shot. This has worked beautifully for that. I got a convertible bed ti out in there for extra comfort and she likes it so much I catch her sleeping in the carrier regularly. My vet now wants one, and the gal who picked up the bat in my kitchen wants one. It’s a fantastic sturdy carrier and the car seat booster is great. Who can cram a panicky cat in a soft carrier and simultaneously close it with a ZIPPER? This carrier is quick and easy to close and opens with a press of the button. Well made, appears durable, and the handle design works well to easily carry heavier animals. A top load carrier is a must for my aging cat who can no longer be dragged out at the vet by his painful arthritic front legs and he's a BIG guy, so wimpy carriers aren't going to work. It's a lot better with this carrier. I got the large, in black with the "booster seat frame" Unfortunately, it is impossible to lift the empty carrier in and out of the frame once installed in the car (Jeep Trail hawk) due to lack of headroom. I can see this as a problem for anyone with a smaller vehicle. Fortunately, I was able to secure the frame in the hatchback with bungees and that's ok just not what I envisioned. The carrier itself can't be strapped in independently because it collapses. I will say it is a smart looking carrier and we refer to it as "Johnny's Royal Pram" ... show more

This is simply an infant carrier for your pet. Will be buying more. Love the car seat clip in and it's truly the only one I have found that my Maine Coone fits comfortably in!

Most importantly: my puppy whines a lot less with this car seat, and eventually stops and lays down. This car seat can unsnap from the base and easily be used as a carrier. when I go to the vet or anywhere indoors. The wood handle is sturdy for carrying. I love the baby buggy design with the hood that snaps closed on both sides. to make sure my pup is contained. Otherwise, he would be so restless and trying to get into my lap as I drive. The 365 degree view makes him less fearful. He is a Havanese puppy, currently 7.5 pounds, and he has room to stand, turn around, and lay down. I used this to take him on his first long 8.5 hr road trip. This car seat was tolerated far better than the hard-sided kennel that provides animals limited visibility. I've been using this carrier everywhere I go, it's easy to clean, carry and still spacious enough for my pup to nap in it happily but just the other day I was involved in a terrible hit and run accident and this carrier saved my baby's life. The media could not be loaded. One “safety latch” does not work. It won’t close. Everything else is great. This is really nice for a dog that is toy-sized or smaller. If you need a car seat that is a little bigger, I recommend the Pet Rover 2-in-1 car seat/stroller. I have had that one for 1.5 years so far. Still nice. ... show more

this was exactly what I was looking for but this is the only size & I was concerned that my boy would be way too big. I have a yorkipoo who is about 18lbs, 25in long, 13in tall & he does fit. he can sit up with the top closed, he can turn a circle with it open, & he can lay down. I wouldn't keep him in it for a long trip but a quick run will be fine. perfect for small pets. as another review stated I also got the 18in crate bed & it fits great & gives a little cushion. easy to assemble & to get seat belt through loops. ... show more
