Always had traditional blinds or plantation shutters. This time looking for something new and wasn’t too sure when I ordered. The price was low enough to take a chance and hope I didn’t get some cheap thing that wouldn’t look good or fall apart. I’m glad I did take a chance. These blinds arrived in about 10 days and were well packed. First thing I did was to check the size. Turns out they cut them perfectly and the fit couldn’t be better. Next was install. Pretty easy instructions but I hit a snag, as there is a steel lintel above my window. Well just use a HSS drill bits, make a pilot hole and take your time. Drill out to 1/4 then use the included hardware. It’s now installed and very solid. I love the way it works and how it looks, makes my office look fresh and modern. Going to put these in some of the other rooms too! The only thing I don’t like is that the brackets show above the blinds and it creates a gap above. To finish this install properly I’ll just cut down some trim, paint to match and tack on above the blinds then it will look perfect. I’m very happy with this purchase. These are great shades, but.. Installation is a job, if you're not skilled have a professional install them. These are to heavy for just wallboard and need to be anchored to either wood studs or concrete. Depending on whichever you have. I used Tapcon masonry screws to install at the top of the window frame. You'll have to modify the anchor brackets a little. The finished product looks great. ... show more

Im sorry but I didn’t hang these yet (at the time Amazon is asking for a review) but we held them up in our kitchen to get an idea. We like the streamlined and neat look of zebra blinds. We first saw them put in campers years ago and were thrilled to see them available in home improvement stores and here on Amazon. The color of the white is very bright white. Its more crisp of a white than the paint on our white door so when we do install it, we will probably repaint the door to match better. This is going on our kitchen door that exits to our side porch. I was hoping the material would be more vinyl/plastic so it could be easily wiped clean. But its more like meshy nylon. So Im afraid after a while cooking in the kitchen will make this nasty and impossible to clean. We will see. I am considering buying a wider one for our bathroom as well. Been wanting blinds like these and after getting quotes from other places that would charge over $1000 for our windows, I decided to try these for a window before buying more. In my opinion, the quality is good, it might not be the “high price expensive brand” but it looks the same and it has a modern look to it. They do the job! We had no issues putting them up.
