Description

Permatex Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant is a general-purpose, black RTV indoor/outdoor sealant. Effectively bonds, repairs, seals, mends and secures glass, metal, plastics, fabric, vinyl, weather stripping and vinyl tops. Also protects and repairs electrical wiring and may be applied to horizontal or vertical surfaces. Waterproof and flexible with a temperature range of -75 degrees Fahrenheit to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, this sealant is oil, water, weather, vibration and grease resistant. Suggested applications include windshields, door frames, electrical connections, seams and roofs, vinyl tops, and weather stripping.

This product adheres very well compared to other silicon RTVs I've used, especially when applied to roughened plexiglass. One commenter claimed product is too thin, and I was glad to read that. But, actually, I found product is quite viscous, as most RTVs are, and I would prefer it to be somewhat thinner. Considerable effort is required to squeeze product out of the tube and product does not flow across surface it is applied to.     • Stiffer than expected
This was stiffer than I expected it to be. Letting the tube sit in hot water for a while helped, but, unfortunately, because space was extremely limited and I bailed after using it after only about a foot. I found it impossible to get my hand into the space to squeeze the tube tightly enough to really get enough silicon forced into the crack. Not entirely the products fault — I’ll find a use for this with no reservation — but I feel that the force necessary to squeeze the tube was worth mentioning. ... show more

I have used this product for my semi truck under the hood foam was came off and hanging and that foam actually help with noise control and temperature control bcz of it was under the hood close to the engine there was extremely heat and also big radiator fan air need something really good stuff so that can sticks to the hood and it’s been over month since I fix that it look great , very good product 😁👍 ... show more

I used this mainly to assist in anchoring a new carbon fiber spoiler to a 2016 CTSV. The description for this product was spot on!! Easy to use & cleanup as well! Tack time & final setup of 24 hours was great. If I had a negative, it would be that it should be offered in a large tube so a large application gun could used to apply this product in a smoother fashion. The smaller tube & applicator causes you to stop & start multiple times to finish the job. Great product!!! ... show more
