  • BEST EVER!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I replaced all my hummer feeders with this item. I had purchases one to see how it works and was so impressed I bought 4 more .Here are the results: 1. Easy to fill from the top. I don't have to empty the remaining nectar to clean/refill. However, there is NO remaining nectar because the hummers drink to the very last drop. 2. With my last feeders, I had problems with honey bees and wasps swarming the nectar holes. This isn't happening with these feeders. The nectar hole is smaller. 3. Comes apart in little pieces so you are getting everything clean. Just make sure you keep the assembly directions. 4. I also purchased the Songbird Essentials SE610 Nectar protectors for the ants.Works like a charm. I watched the ants climb up the shepherd hooks and then climb back down. The ants are nowhere in sight now. ... show more

  • Entire feeder badly designed
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
After taking this apart you can see why hummingbirds don't like it very much. The small round cap on the bottom that the resevoir screws into has a tiny pinhole. That is where the nectar flows through into the bottom, and with sugary water it's going to clog. It drips nectar through into the feeder part more than just lets it through easily. Hubby and I are going to use a screw to open the hole larger, and then hot glue together the 2 bottom pieces so it doesn't leak. It seems it either leaks like crazy or very little nectar fills the bottom. Not consistent and badly designed ovetall. I bought this because it had a built-in ant moat on top to keep the ants from reaching the nectar. The moat is pathetically shallow and water placed in it evaporates too quickly. Even if refilled twice a day. A good breeze even sloshed the water out, so it wouldn't have worked with vegetable oil, either. A complete waste of money. Wouldv'e been cheaper to buy the actual ant moat and a cheaper feeder together than to bother with this. I have one of those ant moats with my other feeder and have never had an ant reach the flowers where the nectar is. I very highly doubt the ant moat is even half an inch deep on this feeder. It's a good idea to have the ant moat built in, but very poorly designed and needs to be way, way deeper, plus the entire design is horribly flawed. ... show more

  • THE HUMMINGBIRDS LOVE THIS LITTLE FEEDER!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I have 3 of these in various spots around my house and they are ALWAYS being used! They hold about 1 1/2 cups of water which is perfect... Enough to last a few days, but not so much that you are tempted to keep it there for weeks on end; i.e., you're "prompted" to change the water at healthy intervals. Love these feeders! ... show more

  • Hummingbird Magnet
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
My daughter, a wildlife biologist, gave me one of these feeders for my birthday earlier this year (2023). When I decided to add a second feeder to my pollinator garden, I didn’t hesitate to order one just like it. Over the years, I’ve had prettier feeders, but this one is by far the easiest to clean and change the nectar. I would give this product a five-star rating if the manufacturer had included instructions for disassembly and cleaning. I had to resort to YouTube to learn how. Other reviews mention the feeder leaks. Due to how the feeder works, it is important to make sure the clear nectar container is securely screwed into the base, and the top is securely tightened. I live in hot, humid Florida, and have no issues with mold in the feeders as long as I give them a weekly cleaning - completely disassembling them and soaking them in a vinegar solution, then using a bottle brush to clean the pieces before a thorough rinse before reassembly. I also make my own nectar, as per the National Audubon Society’s website, which I replace every two days. The ant moat on top isn’t effective, so I added separate ant moats. We have a nearly constant parade of Ruby-throated hummingbirds visiting our feeders ... show more

  • Not as advertised.
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I had 2 other feeders and the ants/bees kept the hummingbirds away. They leaked, and it was a hassle chasing ants and bees away. This Perky Pet feeder seemed perfect at first; it claimed "no bees, no ants" would get in. Well, that lasted a minute. A first, the birds loved it. Then I noticed no hummingbirds were feeding. They attempted, then flew off. I investigated, cleaned the feeder, and refilled. It wasn't long before I noticed the bottom was leaking the nectar, attracting the bees and ants. I washed it again, and noticed about 10-15 huge ants had gotten in. They were not visible, but feeding in the lower, red portion of the feeder. Since I threw away the other two feeders for this very reason, I will keep this until I find another. I enjoy watching the hummingbirds perched and feeding. Very disappointed this feeder was not as advertised. Should have mentioned, the Moat is a joke. Ants somehow crawl around the edges of the "moat" and make it inside the feeder through the flowers. Definitely do not recommend. ... show more

  • Finest What?
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I never thought I'd have a problem with a Perky-Pet product. Apparently, there is a first time for everything. Not sure why, but I somehow skipped reading the reviews. The first thing i noticed when opening the feeder, there was a disc inside. I don't know why because I couldn't find anything to explain what it was, and especially what is was for or how to remove it, etc. I just started using my two new ones yesterday. By the end of the day, I noticed mold inside so I'm figuring I left water inside. I cleaned it and put it back on the hook. I did notice when putting it back together, it took many tries to get it to close correctly. I'll watch them for a couple more days and see if I'll return them. Someone mentioned they think they got old ones because theirs didn't match the description of a moat and yellow flowers. Mine doesn't have yellow flowers and the moat is a joke. You've got to have a separate individual moat for this kind. They are too shallow. Other than potentially leaking and lack of info, these are really cute and don't feel cheap. The plastic is thick, but crystal clear. I like that there is NO yellow flowers, as everyone knows by now that most bees are attracted to the color yellow! Making them out of silicone seems a good idea. ... show more
