This really did the trick in getting my FQHB saddle to fit my gelding that has high withers. It stayed right where it is supposed to. I struggled to decide if I should buy this from the lack of pictures or instructions, so I added a few. The top pic shows my saddle poorly fitting and the bottom shows it properly fitting and no longer downhill. This is a great quick fix if you don’t want to buy a built-up pad.

I purchased this wither pad to use on a 3 year old 14.1 hand tall gaited mule. He does have withers but he's still too narrow for most saddle. So far, I've only used it on top of a 1" thick Diamond wool saddle pad. It brings the saddle up to the proper position. The only thing I don't like about using it, is that I can't seem to get the girth tight enough, which leads to the saddle shifting when I mount. I know it's due to all the shimming with pads that's causing the problem and I plan to try a different type of pad underneath next time to see if it prevents the issue. The quality of the wither pad itself, seems good. I was concerned that the webbing material connecting the 2 pads would be too long, causing them being too far down on his sides, but that isn't the case. This mule probably would take a 5 1/2" gullet if I were going to buy a custom saddle for him at his current size. The saddle I'm using with this pad has a 6.5" gullet. Be aware that if you have a really sensitive horse/mule, you may want to desensitize them to the squeaking sounds this pad can make when you tighten the girth.

My horse is high-withered with very little shoulder musculature, so every saddle sits low on her, slides backward, and leads to saddle sores on the top of her back. I tried several products before getting to the Performers 1st Choice Neoprene pads, and these are by far the best of the bunch. They're thick enough to build out her thin shoulders, grippy enough to remain in place between the saddle and pad, and good looking enough that I'm not concerned about hiding them from plain sight. Since I received these build up pads, I haven't ridden a single time without them. Definitely worth purchasing!

OBSESSED with this. Helped us out a lot! My gelding is an Appendix so he’s built like a QH with really high withers. He has been a struggle to fit but this sucker has made a big difference! Hope this helps someone!

Absolutely wonderful! Worked well to lift my saddle up off my high withered horse. Product is a very nice quality and nice and thick. Product is better than several other more expensive ones I have ordered similar from other sites. It's nice that it's two pieces attached together, it prevents it from moving or sliding around while riding.

I bought my husband a roping saddle, it was a little big on my horse's whithers. This item was EXACTLY what I needed to bring the saddle up a little more. I tested it out and it stayed in place perfectly through every gait, doing small circles/figure 8s/up hills and down hills. Just a really great product! And you don't even notice it unless you point it out!

My horze is medium through the wither and extra wide through the body making saddle fitting very tough. This pad gives a lot of support through the front of the saddle (more than a foam riser) and really fixed any rocking motion. I ride dressage, and it does stick out quite a bit in front of the saddle, but I'm not showing right now. I may take it to a leather worker to see if it can be made more compact.

This product does exactly what it is advertised to do: lift the front of my saddle off my horse's wither. The felt and neoprene seem to be of decent quality and the webbing that holds the two pieces together is sewn in well and is of the same quality as the nylon webbing that my off-billet and latigo are made of. I can't yet speak to how it will last, as I've only had it a little over a week, but, for this price, if I had to order another, it wouldn't bother me.
