I’ve bought quite a few “open box” items in the past with good results - big discount, good items. This one was clearly used as one hook was broken, another one had been touched up with a grinder, and it was covered in greasy hand prints. Not happy about this for only 20% off. Nobody checked the return- wastes my time to return it and order another one. I bought it to remove the seal from an NP231. I’ve done it a number of times without a slide hammer puller, but the last time I broke a small chunk out of the transfer case where the seal fits. While I was able to use ‘orange’ RTV to seal it and it’s fine 40k later, I didn’t want to risk that again on this other jeep - it could be worse than just a small piece. Not sure if I’m going to keep or return it. The ‘spoons’ are flat, not curved, so unclear if it will fit into the opening by the output shaft and let me pull the seal. I don’t mind buying open box stuff, I do mind buying used/damaged items. ... show more

I have a tool box full of automotive tools. I tried everything and anything to remove my rear axle seals. Finally I gave in and said I need a seal puller. I found this one, seemed like a good deal. Showed up in a day or two, tool feels extremely sturdy and came with multiple ends. I picked out the correct attachment and busted each axle seal out in about 15 seconds. Seriously like 2 or 4 slides of this thing with minimal effort and they came out easy. I struggled for hours before buying this. Don’t be like me, buy it first lol ... show more
