When walking the dog in colder weather, I like the warm-up pants as they are easy to walk in and when it gets really cold, it is easy to put long johns under for a little extra warmth. I go these pants for those types of situation. I was a little surprised that instead of the usual draw string, these pants comes with a button and zipper to close the pants and has belt hoops if you need to hold them up. Kind of an inconvenience to have to find a belt to wear these plus I really do not have any active wear belt, just the fancy, not really made for inclement weather belts. Luckily they fit just right and just sink a little, no real need for a belt for me. The pants also comes with knee patches for those that may want to do yard work in them. There is also a parch on the upper thigh where there is an extra pocket, but that just makes the whole pant look weird. There are the regular side pocket on both sides. All pockets zip up in case you are worried about things falling out of them. No pockets in the back though. Overall these pants are slightly disappointing mostly because of the button and zipper instead of a drawstring but it does keep me warm on the dog walks. ... show more

I got these pants and a 5Oaks jacket as well, and they look PHENOMENAL as a set. My daughter stole them, and loves the look and feel of them. I almost like them better as a women's set, as the color block/fabric block pattern looks a little fussy and overdone for a man. These are nice looking lightweight windbreaker pants. For added warmth, you can wear thermal underwear/long johns or sweatpants underneath. These pants have belt loops instead of toggles or a drawstring waist. My son has a smaller waist, and is not a fan of wearing a belt with casual/athletic type pants. Soft shell and lightweight are two qualities of these pants. In addition, they are also very comfortable and well made. They have some stretch and are cut athletic enough in the thighs that they do not bind or constrict. The waist band is broad and sturdy so it wont role down. There are also 5 broad belt loops that would be perfect for a canvas belt. The three zippered pockets are ample in size too. And while they are light weight, they keep in enough heat to wear on chilly days. The medium size I ordered are a perfect fit for my 34" waist. Best of all they don't look like windbreaker pants that belong only out doors and that make swishing sounds when you walk. These are my favorite 'snow pants'. They are a thin shell, but they are super durable, huge reinforced areas on the pants. They also just do their job and are super comfortable without being restrictive or super bulky, can barely tell I have anything besides my normal pants on. Wore them all winter for sledding, snowplowing, bunch of winter activities where I wanted my pants not to get damp. ... show more

This is a great set of fall pants. In terms of fit I'm 5'11" and wear 32" jeans. The medium fits great by itself, while the large fits well over sweats. I got 2 pairs for this reason. If it's in the 50's I wear the M by itself, lower temps I go with sweats and the L over the top. They're not a rain shell and aren't 100% waterproof but they do a good job in drizzle/light rain, of which we have plenty were in Washington state in the fall. They're light enough to be packable as well, so layering with shorts works if you're going to be out when it's early/cold but it heats up later on. 5Oaks Men's Softshell Lightweight Windblocker Pants are great pants for outdoor activity when the weather is too cool for shorts. They're lightweight and flexible. They fit comfortably and are well made. I like the deep pockets. They look good too. All around, they're excellent.
