I absolutely love this kayak! I purchased this for the purpose of going on short sea voyages and it does a fantastic job. It's got great maneuverability and great stability which is very helpful when it comes to ocean chop. This is also a great kayak for beginners. Highly recommend!

Tracks straight! Feels fast with minimum effort! It responds quickly to paddle strokes. I'm a short guy, 5' 8" and 173 lbs, so 52 lbs was a concern; however, the two handles in the middle make all the difference. With the handles, I can load and unload of a top SUV, and carry it just fine. Pricy, but I worth it. I received it with some some scratches in a couple of zones, but no biggy; It floats! ... show more

6’00” - 200 lbs. tracks straight, great in Small lakes and rivers. I haven’t had it in big lakes yet. Tracks very straight, very stable. I’ve been a kayaker for ten years, I’ve had many different kayaks, this is my favorite so far.

I love this kayak so much. It has great stability and is relatively comfortable. I kayak in waters that can easily change from calm to rough, and have no issues worrying about tipping. Just a heads up, it is heavy and unless you are strong (I'm not), you will have to have somebody help you get it in and out of your vehicle. Kayak was delivered with significant scratches and scuffing down most of the right side. There is also a large scuff on the left front. The damage is into the plastic but does not compromise “sea worthiness”. I don’t know if the where during the delivery process the damage occurred but it’s terribly disappointing to spend $800 on a kayak and receive it with damages. To quote an observer "it doesn't look like new kayak". Should have known better than to order something that doesn't fit in a box from Amazon. ... show more

I ordered this very hard to find Perception Tribe kayak from Amazon on Wednesday evening (Aug 11) and it was delivered in perfect condition on Saturday morning (Aug 14). Delivered by 'Amazon' truck and drivers. Very impressed with speed and condition of kayak on delivery. We own two other Perception Tribe kayaks (9.5 and 11.5). Have been looking to get two more of same for over a year and very hard to find due to pandemic supply and demand issues. Jusy happened on to this Tribe 11.5 on Amazon and it showed several in stock so ordered one. And wala....had it in my garage 3 days after ordering. These are great all around recreational kayaks. Seats and built in foot rests make them very comfortable. My advice - spend the extra $ these cost vs buying something half the price that is not Perception. ... show more
