Very smooth drag.Isn't sticky like some of the other higher end Japanese reels out there. Ive caught a few tarpon in the triple digits and a couple goliaths and this reel worked great. Its a great buy for the money.

The Slammer is a beast. Dunked twice on accident in the Atlantic with no issues. Bought the 5500 with 30lb braid and 40lb shock leader. Handles whatever ocean creature that comes it's way. Very satisfied
