Updated: Advertisement made it sound like it sprouts so easily and quickly, but it took over two weeks before first sprouts came out. Hope it gets thick like photos. 2nd update: But for buyers, be patient, it may take weeks to start. I almost threw it out. It is so full now and grew very tall in tank! Love them now! ... show more

Total waste of money. I’ve had this in my tank for over a month and absolutely nothing has grown—no sprouting, no change, nothing. I followed normal aquarium conditions with decent lighting and stable water, so this wasn’t a setup issue. The product is marketed as having live seeds that will grow into a carpet, but in my experience, it’s completely misleading. At best, it’s just a piece of green decoration sitting at the bottom of the tank. If you’re buying this expecting actual plant growth, don’t. Save your money and get real aquatic plants instead. Took over 12 days to finally sprout, so keep waiting at least two weeks before thinking it's a dud! Once it began sprouting, it sprouted even more the following days!

I bought this a little uncertain because of the reviews but I’ve been pleased. It arrived on the 24th and i immediately put it in treated water to get it started, moving it to my tank two days later. By the 31st (first picture) it had started to sprout. Itty bitty tiny leaves but life! Went away on a trip and arrived back the 12th to find a lovely amount of growth (second picture). Might need to get a couple more of them! New uncycled 40 gallon tank set to 78 Fahrenheit. No fish in tank yet so no added fertilizer. Edit: not too long later, fish in the tank so naturally fertilizing and I’m super happy with how this looks in my tank! Third picture taken one month after the second. Edit: 4th and 5th picture something like 4 months in? You’d never believe this thing started out as that weird fuzzy green puck. I don’t know what these plants are but they seem to love my tank and just keep growing. My Kuhli Loaches LOVE this thing. I keep it propped up just a little and they go under is and through the plants and it’s just great. Gonna buy another for my other tank when I get the chance. ... show more

I have a newer freshwater tank with no lights, and it's near a small south-facing window. Instruction of this product suggests to have enough lighting and good water to help the seeds grow. I was originally concerned about my water quality. After 3 days, I notice little sprouts already. I don't know about other reviews, but it's working well for me.     • Plastic shedding slivers no "moss" to be found
0 stars. Says it is moss. The base is resin but the "moss" is made of plastic slivers which are now all over my counter. Not "natural" or "living" or moss. Sure there's seeds in there but this is super false advertising

I've been incredibly surprised at how much growth I've seen with this product. While the moss itself hasn't spread from the patch like I thought it would, the number and size of healthy grass and plants that have sprouted from it have more than made up for it. I plan on ordering more for my other tanks in the future. Wether or not it's worth the money depends on how much you usually spend on plants, but the fact that I just dropped it in there and within a month I had all this growth made it worth it to me personally. Full disclosure, I do use root tabs, API CO2 booster and API lead zone in my tank as well. I also have to say that at the time of purchase I spent $15 and probably wouldn't buy it at a higher price point than that. ... show more
