The reel I received today was clearly open box. The tab had been cut and it had the remnants of a label that was peeled off. I would have given it five stars otherwise. I looked the reel over and so far it looks OK but I wonder if this wasn't a second or problem reel. I will give it a workout soon and send it back if not. ... show more

If I fished more, I'd probably step up to the Penn Battle. But, it's another $50 more. So, I'll stick with the Fierce. Plus, I love the Live Line drag, what a great design and the Battle doesn't have that. Maybe because it's an extra seal to worry about. Anyway, Penn is the best reel maker in the market and the Fierce is a great value. I am going to buy a few more. ... show more
