Very smooth and quiet reel for casting and for reeling in fish. The fine wrapping of the line helps with casting distance. I am running 30 lb braid on two of these reels. One reel got more wind knots because I was running a different brand of braid. Spider Wire runs fine but the other brand had enough wind knots that u ended up stripping off about 50 feet of line. Then it was OK. No other complaints just realize it is a heavy made real. I use it for reds and catfish, strikers etc Great customer service from Penn ... show more

This is by far the best spinning reel by Penn . The Slammer doesn’t even compare. Caught several sails and mahi on the 5000 size and. Smoker Kings too . Smooth and quiet . Drag is Awsome . No need to give the Japanese your hard earned money for a Stella
