Genuinely the kit is very well made. the steel plates are all powder coated gray, and come with instructions and even cloth gloves- if you have thinner skin this will prevent cuts and scrapes from the edges of the flexible metal pipe. the included hose clamps are not cheaply made and are a very reasonable thickness considering the application. ... show more

Just what I needed, install took maby 30 min. Use a 2 1/2" holesaw for the duct and cover. It is perfect for the clamp and a perfect flush mount. Quality seemed spot on.

To put it at the top for easy reference, you need this kit in addition to a 2" circular bit for your drill to cut through the wall, potentially different screws, and possibly some silicone or other form of sealant to seal it along your siding. Our siding is curved and so we'll be sealing the gaps a little better with some silicone. Not necessary, just personal preference. We had to get different screws for ours to hold well on the outside of the house, but we have an old fixer upper and my husband said a normal house probably wouldn't need it. We were told we didn't need a kit with our pellet stove. Our house is drafty and has a lot of airflow so it would help a bit to get a kit, but not necessary. We rann it one season without, and this year we were wanting to install one. Unfortunately, the local stores in our rural areas didn't have one and we kept forgetting to order one. This kit came up to try, and I was happy to do so. It was incredibly easy to install. The instructions give you the basic idea, but the pictures and quality of the instructions left a little to be desired. Even so, it was easy to install. Make sure you consult your owner manual or otherwise locate the minimum distance between your outflow/chimney/vent and your cold air input. We used this kit with a Tractor Supply Gros Ventre Grand Teton for 2200 Sq Ft and have had no issues with it either in use or installation. The hose for the inside of the house is similar to a dryer vent hose, cheap metal and easy to bend or dent and easy to expand out. The pellet stove seems to be running smoother, with a more consistent flame, and maintaining heat in the house better than before. If you're considering one, this kit is a decent deal at the current price of about $23 and I'd recommend getting it for the efficiency and safety of your stove. During installation, you will be dealing with the back of the stove and whether it's common sense or not, be safe and don't install this kit while the pellet stove is hot and running. Turn it off and let it cool, better to be a little cold for a bit during install than to fry yourself by mistake. ... show more

This is a great kit for adding a vent to a workshop. I recently bought a thimble that goes through the wall, and while that was nice, it lacked all the associated hardware to complete the job. This has the hose to go through the thimble, a cover for the outside, and an inner plate to mount it. It also hac=s the proper size hose clamps so that you dont have to scrabble around in your clamp collection to find the right one. This kit can be used for more than just pellet stoves. I used mine for a Chinese Diesel heater air intake. A large portion of the noise from a diesel heater comes from the intake, this kit almost eliminated entirely the intake noise. The quality of the expandable hose is good enough, just don't stretch it out all the way or it may come apart at the crimps. The metal beauty ring and the outside plate are nice and thick. Make sure you cut your hole out about 1/4" wider to accommodate the flex pipe. The length of the flex pipe is more than enough for my needs, and i even trimmed some off.
