I like these mats because they are waterproof and oil resistant. It's textured like carpet, so it's nice to walk on in socks, but thin enough to be easy to clean. I primarily use the as a floor covering in my bike shop where the worst it will experience is a little dirt and maybe some mineral oil from time to time. It's easy to take outside once in a while and dab a little dawn on it then hose it off and let it dry. One thing I don't like is they way it's shipped. They fold it over many times which causes horrible creases in it which make it not lay flat. I've had it sitting flat for about a month and the creases aren't going anywhere. I'm going to try a hairdryer and see if I can't flatten it out a bit. Annoying, but if I can get those out this will be perfect. ... show more

I was seeking a covering for my driveway concrete slab that is a dedicated space for a recreation vehicle. For my expectations I was disappointed in that I did not order a larger size than this Pektiftn 8.2 x 6ft Outdoor Storage Waterproof Thickend Mat. I had hoped also that the actual mat would have been thicker than what I received in order. The mat is a high-quality waterproof felt based material with a PVC (rubber) anti slip tear resistant backing. The thin quality of the mat enables one to easily cut in any shape or custom pattern one desires. The felt top material is easy to clean with a water hose line and sprayer. I would have hoped for a thicker PVC (rubber) backing that would have offered a more bounce feel when walking on top of the mat. One other quality I do like about this mat is the ability to absorb all types of liquids, especially oil – This would be a benefit for me if my vehicle happened to leak any unwanted oils onto the mat, it would not stain my concrete slab. If I want to order again, I will shop for a larger mat with similar material qualities that would also be thicker in substance and design. ... show more

    • Large, carpeted, but pretty thin. Excellent, depending on what you're using it for.

This is a really interesting product in that it crosses a lot of boxes but may fail on others depending on what you do with it. Carpeted waterproof products are usually pretty substantial. I mean built with a rubber bottom and thick. This product is different in that they are giving you a very thin carpet top with a PVC lower. This allows it to be all the things advertised, but not necessarily durable. Again, depending on how you're using it. Would I put this under a shed? No. Not my sharp rocky land. With any weight or steps that mat wouldn't be waterproof any more really quick. But it made me think. I'm a dog person and it would make great material for a lot of things. Maybe your old dogs urinate inside somewhere. This product is perfect. I will need to build a ramp for my older dog's soon, this material is great for that as they can grip on the carpet for traction. Plus, it's thin enough to cut easily to customize for anything you need. A great product, I just think the marketing could have been better, I guess. ... show more

    • Perfect for under a tent

I actually got this to use under a tent and it works amazingly! Keeps the tent off the damp ground and forms a thin barrier from mud, sticks, small rocks, etc. It’s thicker than a tarp and doesn’t make that loud tarp swishing sound. I cut mine to fit and it was easily cut with a regular pair of house scissors. Made it a little bigger than my tent so I have a place to take my shoes off outside the tent. The rubber coating on the back withstands repeated folding and unfolding. The only real con I see to this product is that if you are planning on using it for camping like I did, it does take up a little more room when packing it then a tarp would, but it’s worth it. ... show more

    • The perfect thing for putting under my inflatable pool!

I had been using those interlocking rubber tiles used to create a "play surface" for babies for padding beneath my inflatable pools for years. They did the trick, but setting them up is a pain and some nocturnal wildlife (raccoons?) think that they taste pretty good, so my supply of usable tiles has dwindled. This mat is much, much more user friendly, though, and I won't go back to the rubber tile method (unless the nocturnal wildlife decides that the mat tastes even better than the rubber tiles). ... show more

This is a large sturdy rug fit for protecting the floor under the shed. In my circumstance, I put it under a wooden playhouse outside. It protects the flooring and provides a soft surface for the interior of the house. The underside is plastic and the top is a rough charcoal synthetic fabric.
