Was planning a video but ran out of time so.....maybe later. Hi. Jumping online to give an evaluation of the Peaktop10x 20 carport assembly and value. I had another portable carport that was about 50 % less in the initial cost which lasted around 5 years or so. The top was replaced twice and the metal connectors began to rust after a couple of years. A recent snowstorm caused catastrophic failure so I approached this purchase with considerable skepticism and concern. The first thing that I noticed was the light number of comments from those that purchased the system and the next.... the email address was 'generic' not company-specific so I was concerned. When the product arrived and I looked at the contents, the connecting pieces were somewhat scratched and a little scuffed. However, when I contacted the company by phone and email I was assured they would stand behind the product and provide the needed support to complete the project. I considered returning the unit but after a week or so decided to install. Was pleasantly impressed. The scuffed pieces and a couple of imperfections were addressed with a rust-proofing paint product. I was also informed that two processes are used in the galvanization process.... hot gal and cold galvanization. The cold is used because of the welding process and is a 'coating applied galvanization'. When I contacted a competitor to ask about their method I was given the same information. The similarity was that my 'customer service individual had the same name 'JOY'. Must be the same customer service clearance.LOL. The obvious is to take time to confirm the packing list and parts before beginning. I live on acreage so it was easier to separate the items. The one area that was a challenge was the corners to the roof and systematic assembly. Assemble on the ground the roof sections and the top. Elevate the sides beginning on one side and complete. The basic assembly could be accomplished in 1 to 1.5 hours with the tie downs and other tasks later, The rope and tie-downs are adequate depending on your location. I opted to find additional rope for tie-down at my local tool warehouse. 75 ft for around 4 bucks. I also opted for camouflage to disguise the tie-downs. A metal stake that is used for dogs was also used on the 4 corners, Because of my experience with the former manufacturer, I probably have over-done securing the shelter. The top initially installed with wrinkles and tightness which disappeared after a couple of days. We also added zip ties to the grommet bungies for peace of mind. Overall I consider this a well-designed and functional system that looks great when completed. Instructions are basically pics only.. A little weak Would give it a 5 rating other than the need to touch up what I felt were vulnerable areas from the 'cold galvanization process. The added bracing on either end and side is a welcome addition and one of the reasons I chose this model 2202w. The unit is tall and can accommodate a large vehicle. For the cost, I was impressed by this carport. I've gotten others from Amazon, and this was by far the easiest to assemble. Took about an hour by myself in a crampt driveway. The turf anchors seem to be designed for denser soil - once screwed into the ground I could just pull them straight up without much resistance. Otherwise the poles felt hefty, the tarp was cut and sewn to the right size, and the hardware was also adequately beefy. The instructions were somewhat vague and meant for a different version, but it was still pretty easy to figure out. I.e. there is no part 1A, and the triangle strengthening brackets slide on rather than clip in somewhere. Mine showed up with a handful extra bungees and just enough parts otherwise. Bottom line: at about $230, I'd buy it again if I needed another. Update Jan 2021: Made it thru a wind storm no problem, 60 mph winds. The weight bags and some downward stakes at the legs held it steady. No other issues or problems to note. ... show more

    • For a year around carport, this one is has been holding throught the wind, once I put 12" stacks.

It sways easily. Top cover holds nicely. The feet , dont have a complete weld. the frame is lighter weight than I expexted. The corner sway suport bars dont lock into place, they move when windy. I,ll need to buld new feet so the lack of wld problem wond alow the wind to brake carport free. The stake that came with it, to hold to the ground are thin and short. I had to replace with better , longer , stonger stakes. ... show more

Ok update says it came damaged after contacting seller i got new pieces. No problem putting it together. Had it bolted fast to 36 inch 4x4 pole stacks that I had hammered in the ground. The couple of winter snow storms we had here in mid Eastern Pa. Right near hershey park pa it did good what did it in is the wind storms we got here after the first one the bottom straps ripped then after every wind storm it ripped in different places until this last one know its worthless ... show more

I've had it up for over a month now, it has withstood the constant 45+ MPH Desert valley winds with no issues. It looks great and feels sturdy, definitely worth the money. So much so that I bought another one! Built way better than the bargain brand version.

Arrived in 2 separate boxes with no issues. Assembles very easily with all parts numbered. The green hides well amongst the trees. I wish the tarp cover was thicker however. My guess is it will last maybe 1-2 seasons.

This carport took me about an hour to put together on my own. It was a pretty straightforward process, easy enough to by yourself. I've only had it for a few weeks, but so far I'm happy with it. The poles all feel sturdy, and the tarp cover should be heavy duty enough to hold up for some time. When the initial delivery came, there was an issue with one of the poles. I reached out to customer service, and they were quick to respond and send out a replacement part. Great experience working with them, they were helpful, responsive, and informative. I only just got it but as of this moment I can say it was easy to build and is relatively sturdy. A storm blew through a couple nights after I put it up and it held up just fine. My only concern is how long the fabric will last in the harsh heat and sun of south Florida, but at least for now it's great. ... show more
