Upgrade from an elite series 2 Xbox controller to this. The software definitely needs work but it will get you setup. I’m stil unable to update the latest firmware as I still get error whenever I try but so far I have had zero issues so it’s ok at the moment. I love you can map buttons on the fly to different profiles right from the controller that is so nice. Was not a fan of the 2nd set of buttons they give you they feel very cheap. I do not use those and only use the 2 that are already on the back of the controller which suite me fine. Would highly retype Anyone wanting a nice controller upgrade

I recieved the package, and was pretty excited. I opened the box, noticed it wasn't plastic wrapped or anything, and on the bottom it says "renewed." I didn't select or otherwise signify I wanted a renewed or "used like new" product. I decided to give it a whirl anyways, and to be fair - it works really well for the condition it's in. The only issue I have with it is the fact that the D pad doesn't work (likely because it's been "renewed"). Otherwise it's fantastic. The controller comes with a USB stick that goes into the front of the Xbox, and that's how it communicates with the console. It is very fast, very responsive, possibly the fastest controller I've ever used. I had to adapt to it's reflexes, and not the other way around. Outstanding. The buttons on the back are fully re-mapable, unlike the Xbox Series 2 Elite wherein the paddles are only remapable to the "X,Y,B & A" buttons. You can fully swap around the sticks and move the inputs around which is remarkable. I was actually stunned at how good it was - ESPECIALLY in the condition it's in; but if I'm going to pay brand new prices, I want a brand new product. I contacted Amazon support, explained the situation, and asked if I could return this one for a new one like I thought I was getting. They said they could not do that, because the first time around, the product I recieved was not as advertised, and so there's no guarantee the 2nd time around it won't happen again. Most unfortunate. I'll be returning it, and probably just going to get another Series 2 Elite - but this time with the highest warranty I can get lol. This controller seems fantastic, it really does, but if this is how the seller does business, then I'm not even going to try a second time.

Do you want an elite controller with buttons that actually work? This is the one. The only thing that may turn some off is that it requires a dongle to work on XBox but I don’t mind. The buttons feel good, the grips are grippy, and the layout is changeable. It’s a very nice, premium feeling controller.

I am no serious gamer. Certainly not a competitive gamer. I play for fun. Most of my gaming has been on the PC using a keyboard and mouse. However, over the past few months, I've learned to love using a controller for 3rd person games, top-down games, and some old-school retro gaming. I've been on a sort of quest for the 'perfect' controller ... and there are so many of them. I've tried XBox styled, Playstation, and more. I've had them with the d-pad under the thumb stick and above. And I've found that there are times I prefer one over the other. That's what at first made the PDP Victrix Pro BFG for XBox/PC look so appealing ... it was fairly easy to customize. But none of that would matter if the controller didn't ... well ... control well. ;) First of all, the controller came really nicely packaged and came with a very nice hard-shell case. Inside was the controller and all the customizable accessories, nicely organized and easy to get to. So, way to make a nice impression from the get-go. The controller connected almost instantly to the dongle and I was off to the races! The buttons have a nice feel to them ... not squishy and comfortable to press. The triggers on the front are very sensitive! I had to get used to that, but it's great in-game. I'm still deciding which d-pad to go with, but am currently using the one pre-installed. It works a treat. As I said, I'm not some competitive gamer. I play for my own enjoyment. And I thought I'd had a favorite controller already. I've gone through several of them, each one a bit better than the last until one won out as the 'best'. The PDP Victrix Pro BFG blew the 'best' one out of the water! Even though the thumb sticks aren't Hall Effect sticks, they are pretty darned fantastic! And if I want HE sticks, I can get them now via the PDP store. The HE triggers are awesome, too! I really love them. The controller feels great in my hands, has a really nice weight, and the rumble is pretty fantastic, too. The back customizable buttons are really nice, too. They're not my favorite part of the controller just because I'm not quite used to them yet. Currently, I'm finding it too easy to trigger BOTH on a side (on the back) because they are pretty close to one another. But, again, that's me getting used to the button placement. For now, I've disabled two of them, leaving the other two active. That's helped for now. ;) Of course, customizing the controller is simple to do and only takes a moment. The hardest part may be deciding which pieces to try. ;) This is more superficial, but the controller looks awesome, too. I got the black one with purple highlights and love it. I'd thought I knew what a good or even a great controller was. I was wrong. The PDP Victrix has completely won me over. I love this controller!

I've had this controller for about 10 days now. I'm going to try to remember to come back in a few months to re-review it since a lot of controllers seem to fall apart after a few months of use. 6 MONTH UPDATE: The controller is still holding up great. I game about 4 hours every night and it's showing no sign of wear on the body or with the buttons. I usually leave it charging overnight every 3 days or so and never have any low battery issues. Haven't had any more issues getting it to turn on and sync to the console. TL;DR: This is a solid controller and my issues with it are mostly personal and not the controller's fault. Backstory: I've gone through a lot of controllers over the years and was in the market for a new one after my blue Series X controller has started to wear out. I REALLY like the latest Xbox brand controller but I've had 4 of them and I find the build quality to be hit or miss, so I didn't want to buy another one of those. I very much like the idea of a "Pro" controller with customization and back paddles but I've found the build quality and/or the price on most of the options to not be worth it. I went through 2 Xbox Elite Controllers in the past and the build quality on those is complete crap. I was looking at SCUF but came to find those are just heavily modified Xbox brand controllers and for $200+ USD I'm not taking my chances there. I also can't use a wired controller with my TV being so far from my couch. Doing research the Victrix came up so I decided to give it a shot. Feel: This is the most important factor to me and honestly where I'm struggling with this controller the most, however this is a personal issue and not the fault of the product. It's not shaped like the standard Xbox controller and is more like the Switch Pro Controller where the controller is slightly wider and flat on the top. After using the standard Xbox controller since the Series X came out it's hard to adjust to this. I don't think it's uncomfortable and won't cause any cramps or other physical problems but it was causing me to hit the wrong button at first and miss some shots in game. Build Quality: The build quality is solid. There's no gaps between the panels, no sticky buttons out of the box, and all of the components "feel" quality when you're holding it. It's about the same weight as a standard Xbox controller so that might be a plus or minus for some folks who like the weight of the Elite controller. It comes with a nice carrying case with a braided USB-C cable. The trigger locks seem especially sturdy and make a satisfying click when you activate them. I think the weakest part of the controller is the D-pad which just has that mushy feel and is not clicky like the Xbox controller. I also have concerns about the rubber grips as every controller I've had with rubber grips have started peeling after a few months of use. Customization: You get a number of different physical options for customization like different d-pads and sticks but I haven't messed around with them too much yet other than swapping the d-pad for a standard one. The unique thing about this controller is you can pull the modules off the front and swap them around as you see fit. The modules don't feel like they're going to compromise the build quality so far. You can download the Victrix app on your PC or Xbox to customize the controller further and I did have to do this for a few things like disabling paddles I don't use and reducing the vibration intensity. The one thing I do miss from the Elite controller is the ability to physically remove paddles I'm not using. I only use two paddles and it's awkward to hold the controller in a way where I don't accidentally squeeze the other two. Gaming: I've noticed that the deadzone on the sticks and the triggers is EXTREMELY low compared to the Xbox controller. Just resting my fingers on the triggers would activate them sometimes and with the sticks I was flicking past targets way too fast. Luckily both of these are adjustable in the app and I've gotten the triggers to a good spot but will need to figure out the sticks. Another thing I've noticed is that the paddles don't always respond to double taps. I'm not sure if this is a me issue with the way I hold the controller or if it's the paddles themselves. MISC: - This controller requires a USB stick for wireless. It does not use the Xbox wireless protocol. This means it takes a few extra seconds to turn on your console and you need a free USB port. - The second day I had it it would not turn on. I had to plug it into my PC to update the firmware. - It has a rechargeable battery. This can be good or bad depending on how long the battery lasts. I'll update on battery life after a few months of use. - The Xbox app gets laggy when you try to edit settings while a game is running. Not good for testing your adjustments.

Durable built. Feels good in my hand and doesn't feel like a cheap contoller. Very sensative / responsive buttons and sticks. No lag. Connects to supporting devices via USB C cable, Bluetooth, or by using the supplied USB dongle. Very happy with the purchase. You can change various audio modes and button layouts by pressing a button making it very functional and easy to change configurations for different games. Only complaints that I have is it had a very bad chemical smell that made my hands stink after using it for awhile. But the smell in the case and on the controller did go away after a couple days after airing out. The options and menu buttons are placed really high on the controller and would be a good reach for smaller hands but not a deal breaker. The back pedal buttons are really easy to accidently hit, but can be disabled using the controller setup software. Not compatible with Ipad IOS. It will connect via Bluetooth or HUB, the iPad sees it, but you can't control anything or play games on the iPad. But even with these cons, its a great controller for the price. No regrets.

Before I get into the product review and my experience with this controller, I would also I like to add that I have been drooling over this controller for sometime but the steep price has kept me from purchasing it. Perhaps I should have stayed away but with a massive product discount I decided to give it a go. So right off the bat, The quality on this controller is superb. Perhaps the best controller ever. Ergonomically speaking is near perfect, in my subjective opinion only a few things keep it from being a complete 10/10. The rear pedal buttons don't allow you to fully grip the controller as intended, which is a shame because the rubberized grip feels great! The start/select and record/screenshot buttons are well blended into the design of the controller, so much so that sometimes I struggle to find them. Its a plus and a con at the same time. Upon playing games unfortunately... some flaws started to show. First with the WIFI dongle. I started to notice some systems errors on my PC. Strange little things like keys not entering properly or the controller having delayed reactions. After a restart and downloading the app, these issues resolved. Second; Turning your controller off or on in some instances will create a bug in your PC which will hinder its usage. Some inputs register or register with a delay. Sometimes the game or PC will not even read the controller. Again it only happens whenever you turn off and turn the controller back on. 3rd; the left thumbstick seems to have a small problem which as I tested, occurs in every game. Sometimes when pressing down the controller will instead register "UP". Makes no sense and sometimes a restart will fix it. This is not something I expected for such high priced controller. The left and right trigger buttons are.. WAY too sensitive. Now, I know.. you may think "oh this is for those pro gamers who want those very fast trigger response". Oh they will get that trigger response, alright. Unintentionally as well! Yes, you heard right. Those triggers are so sensitive that they will register even on the slightest of movement. Which means, if you are the type of person that like to let your index fingers rest on the triggers, you will press them. Yeah, I simply keep my fingers off. Entirely... which after sometime, becomes uncomfortable. Yeah you can adjust the travel distance but that doesn't make a difference at all. Trust me. I tried liking it. Enough complaining, let me break it down for you. +Amazing feel +great quality (until you have to use it) +comes with lots of customizable options! +packaging is top notch. This is what a quality control looks like. +wire connection and Wi-Fi dongle included +controller can be recharged with included cable and for the not so good... -May cause system glitches and bugs -You have to download the app to disable back pedal buttons -App will also somehow fix the glitches that occurs when connecting the controller to a PC (wirelessly or wired) -Trigger buttons are horrifically sensitive. I cannot recommend for shooters. -PRICEY!! As you can see, I have mixed feelings about it. In one hand I really want to like it. Its a good quality controller and some very intelligent people who are obviously gamers put some ingenious ideas behind it but unfortunately the quality control in software and also in design (trigger buttons) keeps me away from recommending it to any gamer. Stick to the Xbox Elite if you want a "premium" controller for your collection. ***Im working on a return***
