Ok...I LOVE this flat iron! It gets hot SUPER quick, has a digital temp screen so u know exactly what temp u have it on, and it glides smoothly over my hair..I am a black woman with type 4c hair..despite that, I don't even use a super high setting.. the highest I've gone is 400 but that's only if I'm doing a section I've never done before..I usually stay at 380 or 390 and I only have to do one pass per section.. this iron gets REALLY HOT so the safe and smart thing to do is try a lower setting first and go up from there..u WILL BURN YOUR HAIR if the setting is too high..I also use a heat protectant before I iron each section. I've included a pic of my natural texture and a pic of my flat ironed hair. This is with no perm.. so happy with this purchase ... show more

This expensive straightener worked for about 5 minutes. Then the screen turned to “Error,” and it was dead after that. I tried unplugging and replugging it in, but the screen would only show the error message. I searched in the manual for a fix, but there was nothing listed about the error screen. I also searched the web but couldn’t find anything. To be honest, the five minutes it DID work were impressive and it did a great job. I returned it and won’t try another one for fear it will happen again but be after the return window. ... show more

I received the straightener, but the free heat spray that was suppose to come with it was not. In order for me to do something about it I have to return the straightener. I want the straightener but also want the product that was advertised to come with it.
