The safe is definitely worth the money. It is heavy duty and does provide a safe place for documents. The slot is perfect for my needs. There are three complaints that I see in the write-ups... perhaps I can help. The key only needs to be turned counter clockwise just a little bit, perhaps a 16th of a turn, to unlock the safe. If you try to turn it with force it will break. The key cover just pops off with just a little bit of force and it easily presses back on. If you have trouble setting the code perhaps a number was pressed prior to setting the code. Just take out the batteries which resets the code and try again. If you do not the code will not be able to be set. The other comments were that the safe can be opened without keys or combination code. I don't know if this is true but most leading brand safes for under $200 dollars can be opened easily. You can find out how by searching on Google. This Safe is a deterrent, thieves will not have a problem. Very secure safes sell for hundreds. It is highly suggested not to lock a gun in a inexpensive safe. One last thought, buy lithium batteries do not discharge when not in use and will last a long time. ... show more

Good little safe that we use for basically for register change. It arrived on-time and was easy to install (bolted to wood under counter because as a stand alone it would be too easy to simply pick up and walk off despite the fact that it weights a few pounds) and easy to setup with access codes. It does have a key for overrides. The drop slot is handy for possibly dropping larger bills during the course of the day. It serves as particular purpose well. I do have doubts about the advertised "heavy duty secure" as a bank vault it is not. It is much better than a cash drawer though and the slot makes for easy cash drops but the lack of a baffle means that someone could use a coat hanger to retrieve bills or envelopes. We got tired of the 2 key safe we've had forever and wanted to try out a combo safe. This is a real nice unit. I liked that it had predrilled holes in both the bottom and back so we had the option of securing it either way, most are bottom only. Ours sits on a desk in the office and wanted to secure into the wall. Comes with 4 cement screws (for floor mounting) AND 4 AA batteries (nice bonus). Easy to program and will allow for 2 different combos. When a number is depressed, a fairly loud beep is heard so you'll hear it if someone tries it if you are in office/home or scare them off. Construction is good. Some reviewers complained about the knob being loose but that is on purpose as these safes are designed for the handle to break off is someone tries to force it with pliers but not an issue for normal use. 2 keys come with the unit in case the batteries die off. ... show more

    • Best cash drop safe I've owned for shops/stores
I've been using this for months at my shop and it's honestly the best option I could have imagined for a cash drop safe -- it has two programmable combinations, a master for me and a manager combination for my employees that handle cash control. It's larger than it looks - which is great. There's no way anyone could grab anything out of it through the slot without serious tools because of the (very long) metal inner lip in the drop slot. Buttons are a darker color so that they don't show dirt from fingers or prints (or anything like that) which prevents people from being able to guess your combination. Also, they're coated so the ink for the numbers don't wear off and give away your combination either. A lot of people don't think about these details, which is why I'm so impressed with this little safe considering how much of a bargain it is. ... show more

I had these for 2 years and they're still working. They come with bolts and perfect for a handy man to install them into concrete floors. The bits that are included are very good quality and cannot be removed. No issues with the digital key pad. I always have the backup key in case of emergency. The small downside is the key hole cap is almost impossible to remove and if removed it can break. I either keep it off or hold it with some tape- I would not recommend gluing the cap incase you need to use your key. I have two of these units both purchased from Amazon and I love them. Solid, practical, a good deal for the price. Two electronic combos for 2 separate users and a "concealed" barrel key override. Good functionality and I tested all modes extensively before installing.There was a little play in the knob that retracts the bolt but not so much to overly concern me. The instructions leave a bit to be desired, there is a user and "master" password and the means to program them differs. I wish there would be a way to audit the lock and a means to "jump start" a weak battery with an external one as there are for some electronic locks I'm familiar with, however you'd probably wind up paying a lot more for such features. No regrets buying this unit, I'd consider buying a second similar unit for home use. ... show more
