Overall, this product is quality for what it is. It was recommended to me for my new cricut so I can easily cut the HTV vinyl pages that are used. However - I must have missed that this cutter is less than 12" wide, meaning I cannot fit the 12x12 (or larger) sheets to cut. I will have to return.

    • It slices smoothly and easily
As long as you don’t have too much or too thick paper. This is best for a single page, a couple pages work, 4 seems really pushing it and it was slow and needed a bit more force but I don’t need to do more than a couple pages at a time. My need was mostly to upgrade from the fold and tear technique, which got really time consuming when I had a pile of 10 pages needing a section sliced off. Usually they don’t line up so doing one or two at a time is still an upgrade and time saver for me, I might print on 4 different sections of a sheet of paper and still have a bit that can make some scrap paper, so this really saves the tedium. For me since we have a small house I wanted one that was small, light, and easy to put away and take out, if I had space of course I’d love that old school heavy duty guillotine style, but actually the thickest thing I’ll be slicing is heavyweight watercolor paper. The only thing I could ask for is a second blade included so my first replacement is more about learning how to switch out and gives me time to source and buy the replacement. But at this price point that does seem to be asking a bit much. The instructions were clear and I actually like how uncomplicated it is, very easy to use, simple to line up, also pretty nice looking. For being so light it doesn’t seem flimsy, it seems appropriate for light duty, and I’m very happy with it. ... show more

I've had my eye on getting a paper trimmer for a while, so when this popped up, I ordered it. The package arrived quickly and it was fully assembled. It's quite nice that it's more compact than other models; the swing-out arm does make up for the narrower bed, but you can stow it away when not needed. I can't really compare this to other trimmers, only to my experience using an Xacto knife and a straight edge. I found that I was able to reliably make *much* straighter cuts, and at reliable 90° angles, than I was ever able to make before. However, it's not perfect; there is a little side to side play on the knife, so that you're not careful you might not cut where you want to, or get as straight a line as you'd hoped. I've found with a little technique (applying slight rightward pressure before and while pushing down), I could get good, repeatable results. Still, I wish the tolerances were better. So far, I've had success cutting paper, card stock, and peelable vinyl; I get such better results than I ever did before, so I'm quite happy with it. However, I am a bit worried about finding replacement blades; they certainly look like the blades used in Fiskars cutters, but I don't know if those will actually work or not. Anyway, overall I'm quite glad I have this; as someone who's never been able to cut quite straight, with a little practice this makes it really easy to get quite good results. ... show more

This cutter did not work from the get go. The blade is so dull that it didn’t even cut through a regular piece of paper the first time I opened It! Disappointed!

I didn't look closely enough, so I was surprised to receive this small paper cutter that has a maximum cut width of just 9" rather than 12". When the descriptions says, "12 inch Paper Slicer," it is referring to it's overall length, rather than the width of the paper you can cut with it. Another funny thing is that it came with nothing to identify its make or model. It includes instructions for how to replace the blade, but no indication of how to purchase a blade replacement. There is one little clue on the package: It says, "ITEM:815" under "Made in China" - so does that mean I could find a blade #815 somewhere? I hope so, because this small cutter cuts nicely. ... show more
