Purchased as an inexpensive addition to a home gym that already has a couple of higher quality bars. Intended for light weights in racks. First thing I noticed was the sleeves did not spin freely and the bearings squeaked. I pulled the sleeves off and there was no grease and rust on the bar surface where the bearings rest. I removed the rust and packed the bearings in heavy grease. Instant improvement. The bar is a mix of good and bad. The internal machining on the sleeves is good - no burrs or nicks. The bearings are junk with light casings and races. The bar itself is decent with good knurling that is a tad smooth for my liking but very serviceable. The finish is paint, not cerakote and is already showing signs of wear. Not aesthetically appealing but functionally irrelevant. I got a red one and it is cool looking for now though. I think the bar will work fine for light weights in racks where the bearings aren’t stressed. If you plan on doing Olympic lifts or heavy deads the bearings will be a weak point. I still give the bar 4 stars because it’s functional and it’s somewhat surprising a decent bar can be manufactured for such a low cost.

Recently purchased this barbell and have been very impressed with the quality. Provides just the right amount of grip without being too aggressive, and the bar feels sturdy under heavy weight. I use it for both Olympic lifts and powerlifting movements. It arrived well-packaged, no damage, and looks like it will hold up for a few years of training. Good solid price for my home gym setup.
