  • Know about LED tvs before purchasing.
Size: 43" LED
beware of some LED tvs, we have always owned Panasonic tvs and purchased this one thinking its gonna be as good as all others. It is a very nice picture when looking straight on but from the side the picture fades out. Other than that it is a good tv for the price.. Would recommend for maybe a second tv or one for the bedroom. ... show more

  • amazing for the price
Size: 50" LED
Bought this as a regular bedroom TV and i was impressed by the quality of it, i have a vizio that’s more expensive than this TV and that one is absolute garbage, this one out of the box was more responsive and better picture quality, although not the biggest fan of the OS, if you put an apple TV it makes an amazing setup, glad to see panasonic back! ... show more

  • Use Samsung code 10054 for Directv remote.
Size: 50" LED
I am going to tentatively give this unit 5 stars. The picture is fine, and was not hard to set up. HOWEVER, none of the Panasonic codes on my Directv remote work to program the remote for this unit. Use: 10054 instead. This may provide a hint as to who actually designed the new Panasonic offerings. UPDATE: I am going to ding them one star. This is for two related reasons: 1. The default Input is WIFI streaming, not your last input (upon switching off). This means EVERY TIME you turn on the set you have to stop, take the remote and cycle through the menu to get to "Input selection" then select your input (HDMI in my case). I thought this might have been corrected by a software update, but was not. And 2: while most functions work on my Directv (universal) remote, the input select does not. (See my comment above regarding using Samsung codes. I tried ALL the Samsung codes and 10054 is the best-NONE of the Panasonic/Technics codes work at all). You might be okay with Wifi streaming as your default, but even then, you have to stop and select which service every time. ... show more

  • TV seems fine, but Netflix won't work...UPDATE - It works!
Size: 50" LED
FYI I will update this review over time. If you have this TV, please make note if Netflix works or not in your review, that will help establish a pattern. Like I said, the TV seems to work decent, and the picture is bright and vivid. However, there is massive issue with it right now. Netflix gives me a "tvq-pb-101" error when trying to play *anything*. This only happens on this TV. I have uninstalled/reinstalled, unplugged, rebooted, checked for updates, cleared Netflix AND FireTV player data and cache to no avail. I'm not sure if there is some version mismatch between the FireTV version on the TV(too new?) and Netflix or what the deal is, but it's a pretty big issue if I can't use one of the most widely used streaming apps on it. It feels harsh to give it 2 stars just based on a Netflix issue, but it maybe should get 1 star and returned. I shouldn't need to immediately add an external streaming device to a brand new smart TV. I almost exclusively use FireTVs for my devices and this is the first time I've encountered this error. Update: Amazon has reached out to me and is taking the issue seriously. The issue does still remain currently, but the case was just opened. I had written in another update that is missing somehow that I did also reach out to Netflix. They claimed there was a known issue, but I wasn't sure if the SR was being honest or just getting me off the line because it felt like a brush off. I am impressed that Amazon is having their engineers look at it because it does seem to be an issue with this TV/version of Fire OS as another reviewer has the same issue. Even if it does turn out to be an issue that resides on the Netflix side, I would guess Amazon has a bit more pull to get things changed than a couple of us! Update 2: Roughly 12 hours after I spoke with Amazon, Netflix appears to be working. I'm not sure what was done, but I gave their engineers access to my device data to troubleshoot. I have a follow up call this weekend and will update again if there is something worth sharing, or if the problem returns. I am actually pretty impressed if they did something to fix it - I'm not sure I would have gotten the same level of care from many other brands. Moving to 5 stars now because the panel is bright and crisp, and everything works...plus the service was great. Update 3: Despite what a reviewer claims, it did not take "a couple of weeks" to get the issue fixed. Once Amazon saw the review and reached out(1-2 days maybe), it was around 24 hours(or less) for it to be fixed. I'm all for holding companies responsible, but let's be accurate and not exaggerate. Panasonic, if this is an issue with the TV, feel free to reach out and I will assist in troubleshooting the issue. ... show more

  • Nice 4k LED TV with Fire TV/OS GUI
Size: 50" LED
I'm very impressed with this Panasonic W70 series LED 4k TV. I've been heavily using a Fire TV (stick) but haven't had a 4k TV until this model. The Panasonic - Fire TV GUI is well organized and pretty familiar, as someone coming from the Fire TV stick. The remote control operates via Bluetooth and is similarly familiar as a Fire TV remote. I've been pretty happy with the sound from the TV's speakers themselves. The speakers sound reasonable and full enough for watching dramas and hearing dialog. However, I'm still going to use my home theater sound system for dramatic movie scores and full 5.1 sound. The fact that the TV has 4 different HDMI inputs makes it pretty functional as a stand-alone TV, not requiring a receiver/amplifier to switch HDMI input devices. I like that there's two USB ports on the back for media but they only support up to 0.5A 5V each and Fat32 drives so that's not great as a power source for another streaming stick and the file size limit of 4GB might be a problem with real 4K movie content off a USB stick. The picture is very sharp with the right content, especially local files I watched after installing the Jellyfin app to connect to my local library. I was confused for a bit because it did feel like the Fire TV home page might be rendering at 1080p resolution. I have yet to find a quick "status/codec info" pop up to tell me if the TV is rendering in 4k or 1080p, perhaps because Panasonic wants me to not worry about it and just use the TV. I'm very happy with the picture quality, although I have had a few times where I felt like the extreme corners of the panel might have a slightly lower backlight. ... show more
