  • Good microwave; integrates smoothly with Alexa
Style: Microwave Oven
Have found Panasonic microwaves to work well. This microwave is a high powered microwave. Fortunately, first choice on the user interface is to set the cooking power level. I find I heat food at half power most of the time. Food comes out evenly heated. Reducing the power level reduces the amount of energy delivered, instead of cycling the magnetron on/off as less expensive microwaves do. IMHO, this leads to better cooking. Liquids can be heated quickly using full power. Integration with Alexa was straightforward. Don't use Alexa to control the microwave all of the time, but it's a convenient feature. For an older or visually challenged person it's an excellent feature to have. User interface is intuitive. Never pulled the manual. Just started using it. User interface shows pre-programmed food specific choices. This is a welcome change from former model I owned. Door lock requires two button pushes after cooking. New child-safety feature. I understand the reasons, but it takes some getting used to. ... show more

  • This microwave might be smarter than me
Style: Microwave Oven
First, I love this microwave. It’s big, it looks nice in my kitchen and it works fantastic. However, it makes me feel like I should go back to the first grade most days. It has a cool lock feature (if you have young kids). I turned this feature off because I’m an adult with adult children. It’s still on. And every time I go to push the button to open the door when my food is done the door doesn’t open. Maybe it’s the brain fog I experience most days from being “at that age” (43 in case that makes any difference) but I just think this microwave likes to mess with me and make me work for the food I have asked it to heat. And just to be clear I am not mad about it just a little perturbed that I’m not smarter than a microwave. Great purchase! ... show more

  • Way too complicated
Style: Microwave Oven
I am downgrading my recommendation to a one star. Do not, do not , do not buy this. Unless you love conversations with Alexa. Dealing with the child lock feature is a nightmare. Every time we have a power blink (and unfortunately we live in an area prone to this) not only the clock needs resetting but the automatic child lock. My wife hates the dark interior, its designed for people that wan to ignore spills, they are hard to see. Interior is also smaller than our old microwave, the dimensions provided are misleading. The autosensor is a joke as well, if you rely on it you either have food blow up or cold. I may put a sledgehammer one day on this and then I have to buy a new one, but not a Panasonic. Too many settings and controls. You need to have the book close by if power goes off or if you accidentally lock it, there is nothing intuitive about which buttons to press toe get it back working. Also interior is black, so hard to see any splashes (is it aimed at people that just dont care about cleaning it?). I regret buying this. Had a Dacor that worked for 15+ years and was clear cut to use, also bigger inside, but they got now too expensive to replace. ... show more

  • Very Quiet But Can’t Use As A Clock
Style: Microwave Oven
A good microwave but does not have a clock that is on always display. I wish this was an option instead of a factory setting that can’t be changed. Very strange. Alexa integration is excellent.

  • Alexa function works great for blind
Style: Microwave Oven
The microwave works great. it connected to Alexa upon set up. She worked immediately. Upon giving Alexa a cooking command. I was skeptical it would work well but it surprised me. I need the ability of Alexa to control the microwave. that is why I got it. It is an expensive microwave. I got a great price on Prime day. It is worth the money. for anyone blind or has low vision. since most microwaves are flat panels. that have to be marked. this microwave has no number pad like a traditional one. it has 6 push buttons and a turn dial. it is a really nice microwave. it is a taller microwave. then my last Panasonic. My last Panasonic was accessible too. Accessibility is an important factor. Manufactures should keep in mind. It is a wonderful microwave. Just got it. Hopefully it will last long time. My last Panasonic lasted 9 years. ... show more

  • Overall good microwave, but setup is difficult if you have to do it
Style: Microwave Oven
From a quality standpoint, I like the microwave. It's easy to use and does a good job heating food. The "smart" portion of the microwave is pretty buggy and nothing works right, so honestly you're better off just buying a far cheaper and dumber microwave. Originally when I bought it, it came pre-setup using my Amazon profile with my saved WiFi password, so it just connected right away out of the box and I could control it with Alexa. So, if you can purchase the microwave this way, it'll probably work. Unfortunately, a month or so ago I bought some new WiFi hardware and had to setup my WiFi network again from scratch. Trying to get this microwave to connect with my new WiFi was near impossible and took several hours. Every time is just some error message. I believe the phone has to be on the same network as the microwave and it has to have special settings and use a certain WiFi band and the planets must all be aligned. I honestly forget how I finally got it working (probably no less than 30 factory resets), but it was no small task. Almost every other WiFi device I own "just works" with minimal hassle. The other annoying "smart" feature is the clock. It appears to want to sync to Alexa for the time. All my Alexa devices have the correct time. However, the microwave clock is always off by three hours no matter what you do. If you set the clock manually, it will just be off again by three hours a while later next time it "syncs". In the Alexa app "Devices" tab if you find the microwave, you can set the device time zone however nothing you set it to makes any difference. The time is always wrong. I've filed several help tickets with Panasonic, but each time, a bot just responds to the ticket with instructions on how to manually set the clock. If you reply to the ticket, no one responds. Overall, seems like a halfway decent microwave with all the "smart" features crammed in last minute with little to no testing. Panasonic offers no customer support on the product and there's no way to talk to a human. ... show more
