Top Amazon Reviews

  • Excellent size lens
First off I watched quite a few video reviews online as well as various pro blog reviews before making this purchase. I am very happy that I did make this a part of my lens collection at a fixed aperature of f 2.5 this is fast enough for a non Pro lens the 14mm wide (28mm full frame) angle view makes it great for narrow spaces. As far as image quality its sharper than a kit lens, when stopped down to a lower aperature images are crisp. This is a good lens for a casual or hobbyist photography looking for a minimalist design lens at a very low cost. I would also suggest reading this lens reviews by pro photographers in determining what lens suits you best. ... show more

  • Nice compact prime lens, good build quality, good value for the money.
I'm using this lens with a Panasonic Lumix GX8. The low profile of the lens allows for easy carry of the camera, and minimal weight. It works great for general use, and I have no issues with the imaging quality. For wide angle, this lens works fine. As always, I recommend buying the B+W multicoated UV filter to protect the front of the lens. For the price, this lens is a bargain! If I were considering buying this lens, I'd personally probably go with the Panasonic H-X015K G LEICA DG SUMMILUX 15mm/F1.7 ASPH instead. It's larger physically and twice the price, but higher quality and has better low light capability. Note that neither of these lenses has image stabilization built-in, which I consider a drawback *for my use*. I have Parkinson's, which makes my hands shake. Image stabilization, along with faster lenses (hence faster shutter speed) help reduce the effects of camera shake. When I need to shoot in low light, I use the 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom, which is not as compact but does have image stabilization and water/dust resistance. Life is full of trade-offs, and lens choice is a fine example. My Micro 4/3 camera kit consists of: Panasonic Lumix GX8 Camera Body Prime lenses: Panasonic LUMIX G 14mm f/2.5 II ASPH Panasonic H-X025 Lumix G Micro 4/3 LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm f/1.4 Leica Aspherical Lens Panasonic H-NS043 Lumix G Leica DG NOCTICRON 42.5mm/F1.2 Lens Zoom Lens: Panasonic X Series H-HS12035 Lumix G 12-35mm F2.8 ASPH Lens Flash: Panasonic DMW-FL360L Flash (Black) And various other accessories. • Great small lens. Easy to use and crystal clear images.
Awesome for an easy to carry lens. Very impressed by the image quality.

  • Price/performance winner
I use this lens with a hood (Fotasy Metal Screw-In Lens Hood) when my GH5 is used as a webcam. Should also work well for v-logging - it supports AF and is much lighter and marginally faster than my Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm/F2.8. Another alternative considered - Rokinon 12mm F2.0 NCS CS Ultra RK12M-MFT - I already own it and used for years. Perfect for environmental/events, is faster but manual focus-only and much heavier. Lens's AF performance is as good as that of the camera, which is adequate, but not class-leading. I do not do photography, so can't speak about its suitability for that. ... show more

  • My Go-to Lens for Recording myself
I bought this lens with the intent to use my GH5 in the gym on a Joby tripod. Its lightweight and keeps the camera/lens weight lite enough to use the small adjustable tripod.

  • Great travel and landscape lens
I do a lot of travel and landscape photography. This lens is exactly what I was looking for, for my Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IIIs. I love the compact size and short profile with a relatively fast F2.5 and a 35mm equivalent of 28mm wide angle.

  • Great street photography lens.
This is my go-to lens for lazy street photography. It focuses fast, is sharp, and compact. Well worth the money if you are using a m43 camera. (EDIT NOVEMBER 2022) So this is my main lens for street and architectural photography. Still a solid performer a year later.

  • Great wide, sharp, light weight lens that I use almost exclusively for gimbal video work
I use a non-motorized gimbal and I needed a light weight wide lens for my Panasonic Gh5 and this lens was perfect. It's sharp, wide angle, but not too wide, and so far has made gimbal shooting a lot easier (and lighter). Recommended.
