The answering machine doesn’t work. Maybe because the linked cell goes to voicemail first? I am going to have the cell voicemail disabled to see if that works. I bought a cell with my landline number installed; then used the link to cell with all the remote phones. Now i have a system as good as the land line at a small fraction of the cost. A couple of minor drawbacks….it takes a little longer to connect going through the cell. Callers tell me I am answering on the second or third ring when it has rung only once on my end. Moved into a new apartment, and wanted to add phones without trying to run wires. I plugged the base of this unit into the Internet Gateway, which provided telephone service. Without needing to run wires, I then had phones in all needed places. The speaker phone volume on the handsets is a bit lower than previous Panasonic phones I have had, and that can be a problem with some calls. I am 75 and don't own a cell phone and this phone is a bit too techy for me but as I learn new things about it I find that this phone is too good to be true. The first and most important thing is the sound quality and volume. I mainly use the speaker and not only do I have good sound but the other end doesn't know I am on the speaker. The directory is endless and the phone announces the caller on the second ring so you can decide if you want to keep running to get the call. Each phone ( I bought an extra so I have 6 ) shows the location of the phone ( kitchen, office, etc. ). I could write a book on this phone it has unimaginable talent. ... show more

I cannot beleive how poorly this system works - or I should say doesn't work - set the ring count as per the manual - it answers after 4 rings - regardless of what you set it on, and to make matters worse you get a prerecorded message - not one that you play to choose or one you recorded yourself - and after leaving the message IT NEVER MAKES IT TO THE ANSWERING MACHINE!! Where it goes is beyond me. Also if you answer the phone immediately it cuts off the caller. Link a cell phone - no joy - doesn't work. Tried Panasonic website for support - big waste of time - I'm going to try Amazon for some relief or I wasted $150 . I really blew this review - I thought the system was just garbage because a month into using it it just wasn't working. I gave little thought that it could be Comcast screwing up the works. I spoke to Comcast and they said everything was working perfectly. I kept going back a different agent each time and the other day I got an agent that said he knew exactly what was wrong and in five minutes it was working as advertised - I apologize Panasonic ... show more

I've been using Panasonic phones for ages, and my previous set was getting wonky and it was time for replacement. Things I like: The phones are lighter than my previous set (10 years old) Set up was seamless for both landline and connecting my cell The clock ran slow but a quick Google search found the answer that allowed me to set the time manually What I don't like: The sound is somewhat tinny on both ends. This wasn't a deal breaker because I usually use a headset, and it isn't bad enough that I can't use it. However, after the pristine sound quality of my old set I was somewhat disappointed. Otherwise, it's still a wonderful Panasonic phone that allows me to have a handset in almost every room and appears to have the same Panasonic reliability I've known and love. ... show more

Batteries run out quickly compared to other phones I've owned. Wish it included a better block call setup. Compared to at&t phones I used previously the call bkock feature on this ph8ne are too complicated and inadequate. Given the volume of spam callers we receive daily it's just not what I had hoped. They were "super easy to set up", it was "super easy to connect it to our Cell Phone", so now we have 5 phones throughout our home to answer or to place a call, all while using our cell phone connection! By switching was are saving a bundle!
