Nice phones. I wanted 6 phones without an answering machine as I have one that works fine with another phone. Buying extra handsets is expensive. They run about $40 each. I phoned Panasonic and they told me that If I bought another identical phone set the three new phones can be traIned to the original base station. I ordered another identical set of phones and following the instructions in the manual paired the new three phones to the first base station. Works great. The new base station is not hooked to the phone line and it has become a charging base for one of the phones. There are many good features to these phones. There is a call blocking button so unwanted calls can be blocked from future connections. Seems to work well. If desired they can be individually un-blocked also. Another nice feature is that any changes make to one phone are also made to all 6 phones. ... show more

Update to my prior review: All the problems we were having with not being able to hear through the phones was due to our Comcast modem needing to be bounced. After turning the modem on and off again, the phones are working perfectly again. Wow! Since I got this new phone system my house is quiet. The best setting is to not hear the first ring. This is most nuisance calls, so it’s very quiet now. What a wonderful difference!

Worked only a few hours, then the main init failed. Charging but all the handsets indicate Main Unit No Power. Im just lucky amazon is very helpful with this case. Bad Product but Good Customer Service from Amazon

The short battery life is quite a problem. Particularly bad... it takes 2-AAA batteries and if left off the handset for more than a few hours, it begins to lose it's charge. I have 3 handsets and I'm the only one that uses a landline. Maybe for a few short calls in the day. Overall, not high use. Yet, whenever I've need a handset, somehow at least one or all 3 batteries are low. They lose battery by just lying around, unused!!! This is turning out to be quite a problem for us. Typically, handsets don't get placed back on a base immediately. They lie around for a few hours. Maybe even forgotten overnight. And yet the handset would remain strong. Never, ever been an issue before, with Panasonic or another brand. ... show more

The phone feels cheaply made, light plastic and the battery life is crap. After a few hours off the charger it starts beeping that it must change for 7 hours. This phone is brand new, yet the battery life is terrible and takes over 7 hours to charge. In your hand it feels like holding cheap plastic, no weight at all. This was a replacement from a different brand of landline phone and that was terrific. It lasted 8 years with amazing battery life and felt like a REAL phone. I ordered "3 Cordless Handsets - KX-TGD513B", with the box labeled "Style: Talking Caller ID" highlighted. Phones I received had NO talking caller ID. Additionally, they are much larger and heavier than my old phones (KX-TGA931T) and have a really cheap look and feel compared to my old set too. I ordered them used from Amazon Warehouse and although they were described as being in very good condition that was not the case. They were thrown in the original box, (not individually wrapped), batteries in a zip-lock bag, and very dirty, and very scratched, especially the base. They looked like they had been kicked around a dirty floor. No thanks! ... show more

My very old land line phone system finally needed to be replaced. I promised myself that a new phone would have a Call Block feature because I get between 12 to 15 telemarketing calls a day, starting a little after 8 a.m. up to just before 9 p.m. This phone has Caller ID, Call Block, speaker phone, phone book and call waiting. The phone is very clear and no problems with noise or hearing the caller. When an unwanted call comes in, I hit the Call Block button, answer "Yes" to the question of whether I 'm sure, and the number is blocked. It holds 100 blocked numbers, and any number can be removed from the blocked list. When ECO is displayed on the screen, the phone is using less power. The base unit also has a handset locater. You can also choose between ringtone or a melody. The only problem I've run into is that this model has no Answering Machine or Voicemail feature. The guidebook says to contact phone service provider to subscribe, but I would rather have a built-in system. I hope I've given a good picture of this phone and its features. NOTE:. I called my phone company and they easily set up voicemail on this phone at no additional charge. ... show more
