Description

"The Palram - Canopia Mythos 6'-1" x 6'-1" x 6'-10" greenhouse kit provides the perfect growing environment for plants. The Mythos wall and roof panels are made of a nearly unbreakable polymer called polycarbonate that has the light transmission benefits of glass, but is lighter, stronger, and safer. The double walls diffuse intense sunlight that can stress plants and provide twice the heat retention of single panels for a more stable growing environment. The Mythos frame is made of rust-resistant aluminum mounted on a heavy-duty galvanized steel base for structural support. Other features include an integrated rain gutter to disperse the rainwater, and a roof vent and lockable hinged door with a magnetic catch to keep the air flowing and help control temperature and humidity. Palram - Canopia has the only DIY greenhouses on the market with a sliding panel structure, which creates better insulation, stronger resistance to wind and is easier to assemble. Prolong your growing season by starting from seed in the early spring and extend your plant growth beyond the first fall frost with this backyard greenhouse. With its easy assembly, durable materials, and effective features, the Palram - Canopia Mythos greenhouse is the natural choice."

  • Great company
Felt a little flimsy while assembling it, but as it came together it firmed right up. Definitely a two person job, but really like the end product. The manufacturer has amazing customer service. I opened package about a year after receiving (To many projects) anyway, Amazon had sent me the wrong color. It was way past the return date on Amazon so I contacted Canopia and asked if the could refund the difference between the green and straight aluminum. They informed me that although it was to late for a refund of the $150 difference they were able to offer over $400 in product free of charge. Super satisfied! Great company and great product. FYI, make sure you assemble the greenhouse on a calm day😳 and oh yeh, make sure you don’t wait to open and inspect if you not assembling it right away! 🥴 ... show more

  • Great low budget Green House
Color: Forest Green Size: 6 Ft. x 6 Ft.
Since this was our first greenhouse purchase we decided to go with this instead of a $1,300 greenhouse from Costco to save money and see if it’s something we like. Overall we are satisfied with the product. There was one damaged part that we had to have replaced. We had to call the service center and it was shipped out in about a week. I highly recommend doing an inventory of the parts and organizing them into piles groups. We used plastic cups for all the small pieces such as screws and nuts. This is definitely a two person project. One person stabilizes while the other screws things together. The process is time consuming as it took about 8-10 hours. I recommend buying a ratchet rather than a manual wrench to help screw down the dozens of nuts and bolts in tight spaces. Make sure to take your time, look a couple steps ahead in the instructions and be patient. Most of the screws are only partially tightened as you assemble each section to help wiggle things into place. Later on you tighten most of the parts fully. Once the house is built, the plastic panels rattle a bit. We used two clear caulk bottles around all the seams, door, and panels to glue everything together and seal out water. I highly recommend this. I’ve also heard this helps with wind. We get a lot of wind where we live but I haven’t had a big storm yet to see how it handles. We secured the greenhouse to pressure treated 6x4 wood that was anchored using earth anchors. The greenhouse does not include screws/bolts to secure the foundation to the base. It is also highly recommended that you level the foundation before installing the greenhouse so that the parts are all aligned during installation. Overall we are happy with the greenhouse and look forward to adding accessories such as shelves and possibly a screen door. The quality of parts is definitely lower than that of Costco or other high end greenhouses, but if you are in the market for a decent greenhouse, this one is for you. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars mostly due to how difficult it is to assemble. ... show more

  • Sturdy, functional, and looks great
Assembled greenhouse looks awesome and is sturdy (we also ordered the cable tie-down kit) and very functional (we also ordered four of the metal shelves.) Assembly was not quite as easy as the instructions would have you believe and at some points in the process there were high levels of frustration BUT we persevered and, in the end, it was very worth all the effort. We LOVE this greenhouse - just make sure you pack plenty of patience and time and know that at certain points in the assembly, two people are required. ... show more

  • Be prepared to perform your own machining. And have at least two helpers.
The pieces all came in one box. To manage this, they cut pieces in two for shipping and expect you to then affix them back together. They included "self tapping" screws to achieve this, however the materials were so poor that the screws would not tap. Also, to safely do this you will need a mounted vice. I broke a drill bit on one of the aluminum support pieces since this company did not see fit to have the holes pre drilled. The directions are all pictures, no written word. This was challenging as many of the pictures did not look like the pieces they were intended to represent. Tolerances were terrible, too tight where they should have been loose and too loose where they should have been tight. The majority of the bolts were sized about 9.7mm, so you will need a 10mm socket to tighten them, although you will "round off" many of them as they are really too small for a 10mm. The directions indicated they provide a tool for this, but ours did not have a tool. All in all I would have expected much better materials and directions. I can not recommend this to anyone who does not have a background in either construction or metalwork. I had to "jimmy rig" several portions of the build to get it together. I also can not recommend this unless you have at least two helpers to hold things while you affix pieces together. March 2023 Update: The greenhouse is still standing, however several panels have blown out due to wind this spring. Also the door has warped and, due to the poor tolerances, I am unable to affix it back together without totally re-engineering the door. Panels that blow out are almost impossible to replace due to the edges not being finished, they just fray and splay out such that to replace the panel you will have to deconstruct the frame almost entirely. I can not recommend this product in the future if you wish for a greenhouse that will stand up to anything but pristine weather year around. ... show more

  • Better than expected.
This item is currently unavailable, but I’ll kick in my opinion, assuming Amazon will get it back in stock. This kit came in a single box. All parts were there and labeled (except two, which looked exactly like the drawings). Four of the large polycarbonate panels were slightly damaged on the end of one aide. The damage was minimal, however, and was hidden by the laterals. All other pieces were in great shape. The instructions have very detailed drawings which show exactly what each part looks like, including the ends that are important, since the configurations of the ends are different from piece to piece. These drawings eliminate any confusion. Also, the pieces were numbered. The pictorial instructions were far better than any other DIY project I’ve put together. If you can’t look at a picture and figure out what’s what, then something is wrong in the State of Denmark. Everything fit together well. Yes, some parts were plastic, but, unlike one reviewer here, I didn’t break any of them while screwing together. Gorilla tactics are unnecessary. Just tighten until snug. Don’t grunt and keep turning! Two people are necessary for installing the upper portions of the front and rear gable sections of the greenhouse, as well as hanging the door. The rest can be done without help. However, unlike the instructions said, I installed one side, completed it to a point where it could stand alone, then went on in the same manner to the other three sides. This way, if a decent wind came along, I wouldn’t have to worry about all four sides being incomplete before I had them battened down. A good foundation is vital. Either level the ground for the base, or you can make a foundation from a concrete slab or a wooden deck. I chose a redwood deck, placed on a rectangular arrangement of 4x4 lumber. I also included a 4x4 middle cross section, and sunk three 4x4 bases in holes and concreted them in. I then screwed lags to this foundation, using the holes in the greenhouse’s bottom laterals. You must have some method of holding down the greenhouse to the foundation, or ground. My method worked fine (we had a windstorm a few days after completing the project, with 55 mph wind gusts, and no problems whatsoever). If building to the ground, use suitable anchor kits. Remember, the greenhouse is like a sail, and you don’t want it to sail away in a heavy wind. I’m very happy with the results. Relatively speaking, the price was very reasonable, especially considering the size of the structure. I’d buy the same item again if we were to move elsewhere. But be prepared for some wrenching. It takes a while to get it all together, but you’ll have the time if you get off your computer, or put off watching the news. ... show more

  • Tricky assembly, but a nice unit.
Color: Forest Green Size: 6 Ft. x 4 Ft.
After having gotten it assembled and installed, It's a nice little greenhouse. I think it will be ideal for keeping my herbs and other potted plants alive through the winter, and for starting seedlings in the spring. I plan to install a small, thermostatically controlled space heater, and an automatic drip watering system. What didn't seem clear to me is the difference between the "hybrid" and the "Mythos" models. The hybrid has clear, single-layer polycarbonate walls (accidentally ordered this first, before sending it back.). The mythos has double-layer walls with about 3mm of airspace between them. I'm hoping this will provide for a at least a minimum of insulation. One issue I had was assembly. I am a very accomplished home handyman/fix-it man/do-it-yourselfer, and I went into this rather cocky assuming I could significantly beat the 7-hour estimated assembly time. Ultimately, it probably took me a bit over 7 hours, which included a couple of very minor glitches plus one significant glitch with the design. The instructions are excellent and detailed (as long as you pay close attention) and the unit is well-designed. It just took a while to make all things fit together. The major glitch involved the window in the roof. The instructions call for a small rubber cylinder (part 7009 on the illustration) to be inserted on each end of the window. There is, in fact, no room for that rubber piece on the outside edge. I had to saw a notch in the part in order to accomplish that (see photos). The next issue is that the Heavy Duty Shelves, (purchased separately) which are advertised to be compatible with this unit don't fit. I've placed a review of the shelves, to explain that issue. ... show more

  • Missing Parts
UPDATE: we had to return the greenhouse. Many parts missing, frame scratched and side panels dented. This was definitely not a new item. Very surprised this item was shipped in this condition. Delivery was very slow, taking almost 1 month to arrive. We were so excited once it did arrive to start building it but quickly realized we were missing 4 pieces. We are now completing a full inventory check to make sure we are not missing anything else. We do have 4 wheels in the box and not sure why those are there?? We have contacted the manufacturer and have left voice message and also submitted an on line form for the missing parts. Hopefully we will here back soon as now our project is on hold. If we don’t hear back soon we will have to return this greenhouse. Very disappointed so far. ... show more

  • was a return, listed as very good but...
Color: Forest Green Size: 6 Ft. x 6 Ft.
From the listing it sounded like this was in original condition, just not original packaging. I wasn't expecting perfect but, one of the panels actually had a hole in it and was cracked in other spots. I had to seal it with silicon caulk, hope it holds. I covered it with a nice sticker, but wish I hadn't had to. Other than that, the greenhouse itself seems very sturdy, wasn't too hard to put together. We put it in a fairly sheltered spot as we get high winds here, and bolted it to large concrete pavers. I plan to clamp the arms of the roof vent whenever high winds are forecast since many reviews I've read said the vent could lift off in high winds (60 MPH isn't unusual in winter here). ... show more
