Description

"The Palram - Canopia Mythos 6'-1" x 6'-1" x 6'-10" greenhouse kit provides the perfect growing environment for plants. The Mythos wall and roof panels are made of a nearly unbreakable polymer called polycarbonate that has the light transmission benefits of glass, but is lighter, stronger, and safer. The double walls diffuse intense sunlight that can stress plants and provide twice the heat retention of single panels for a more stable growing environment. The Mythos frame is made of rust-resistant aluminum mounted on a heavy-duty galvanized steel base for structural support. Other features include an integrated rain gutter to disperse the rainwater, and a roof vent and lockable hinged door with a magnetic catch to keep the air flowing and help control temperature and humidity. Palram - Canopia has the only DIY greenhouses on the market with a sliding panel structure, which creates better insulation, stronger resistance to wind and is easier to assemble. Prolong your growing season by starting from seed in the early spring and extend your plant growth beyond the first fall frost with this backyard greenhouse. With its easy assembly, durable materials, and effective features, the Palram - Canopia Mythos greenhouse is the natural choice." Manufacturer Contact Information

  • Ok but with issues
Color: Forest Green Size: 6' x 6' x 7'
The instructions were ok (pictures only) but required careful attention and were definitely unclear in places. You really do need two people to assemble certain parts correctly and shouldn't tighten all the bolts until fully assembled. When fully assembled, parts don't really connect seamlessly (even when tinkered with) and the design seems really cheap. It does seem fairly sturdy when fully assembled and seems to stay decently warm overnight, getting quite hot when the sun is out, but I haven't yet used it over winter to know how well it holds up. There are some major concerns that would likely keep me from purchasing it again or that would have been nice to know before assembly. 1. The polycarbonate panels don't fully seal, so moisture gets in between the polycarbonate panels over night or when it rains. Apparently, some people seal the individual panels before assembly with caulk or special tape, but this is my first greenhouse and there were no instructions about doing this, so it didn't occur to me until it was fully assembled and a problem. I'm still trying to figure out how to get it to dry fully so I can apply some sort of sealant to keep mildew and bugs from taking up residence in the panels. 2. There were minimal instructions for how to assemble a foundation. As a first-time greenhouse owner and building novice, this was the biggest challenge and took the most time to figure out since Palram doesn't really provide much in the way of instructions. They assume you already have a foundation built. It required extensive research elsewhere to figure out the best way to build a foundation. 3. Parts don't quite fit together seamlessly. For instance - Some of the cross bars (along the walls) don't seem to fit correctly, and even with lots of adjustments and tinkering still don't lie flat but have a slight bowing to them. The rubber sealant for the door isn't held in by anything, so it slides out. There are small cracks where the wall bars and roof meet allowing water to seep. Etc... 4. To number each of the many pieces, stickers were used, and they didn't come off easily and left behind a sticky residue. The triangular polycarbonate panels had stickers to indicate which side should face outside the greenhouse, and couldn't be removed with soap and water. They are still on there for now because I'm worried about damaging the UV protection using anything else. Most of the panels used a different type of sticker that was easily removed, but for some reason these were stuck with something else. Makes no sense... ... show more

  • Keeping your Greenhouse cool and This greenhouse made it through severe weather, high winds and large hail with no damage!
Color: Forest Green Size: 6' x 6' x 7'
This isn't a review but an answer to a question that was asked by Amazon regarding adding another vent because of heat inside the greenhouse in the summer. I don't believe you can add an extra vent. What id did was purchased from Amazon a RoadPro RP8000 10" Indoor/Outdoor Dual Power Fan ($27.57), a ACOPOWER HY015-12P 15 Watts Poly Solar Panel for 12 Volts Battery Charging ($41.31) and a CUZEC 13.1FT / 4m 16 AWG Extension Cord Plug Socket with Battery Clamp 12V/ 24V Battery Clip-On and Cigarette Lighter Adapter ($12.99). I used large paper clips and a plastic zip tie to attach to the handle the fan to the green house door with the fan facing outward to push the hot air out of the top of the green house. I threaded the wire from the fan thru the opening of the palram plant hanger and inserted the hanger into the door frame to keep the fan from moving around when its blowing air. The paper clips allow you to slide the fan out of the way when you are going in and out of the greenhouse. I then plugged the fan into the cigarette adapter and attached the 2 alligator clips to the wires coming out of the back of the solar panel. I placed the solar panel on the south side of the green house tilted toward the noon day sun. The fan will come on in the morning when the sun hits the solar panel and shut off at night when the sun sets. it keeps the greenhouse 10 to 20 degrees cooler than it would without the fan blowing the hot air out. You can also turn the fan facing inwards if you want to use the breeze it creates to help with pollination of plants you might have growing in the greenhouse like tomatoes or peppers. I have attached some photos so you can see what i'm rambling on about. Lol It really does keep the temperature inside the green house from being much more than 6 degrees or so above the outside temp. Hope this is helpful One more thing i'd like to tell. We had severe weather with tornados large hail damaging winds here in northwest Iowa on June 29 2017. Our vehicles suffered close to $20,000 in hail damage. The roof to our compositions shed has holes golf ball sized holes in it. Everyones roof in the area had to be replaced, but my Palram Mythos green house doesn't show any sign of damage. No damage to the polycarbonate panels or the structure. The winds were well over 75 miles an hour with a tornado spotted less that a mile from where I live. This is one tough little greenhouse and the fan and the the solar panel also were undamaged even though the door to the greenhouse was open during the storm and the fan still works as does the solar panel. ... show more

  • Perfect Greenhouse!
Color: Silver Size: 6' x 6' x 7'
This was a gift for my 12 year old daughter that loves to garden. We live in New England so she wanted to get a head start on planting veggies. Yes, she is a very mature lil farmer... I could not be happier! She lives it! Although it did take about a half a day to put together and the instructions where a bit hard to follow, it is perfect and well made. We built it in a large area of the yard and then moved it as it was light enough. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Great Little Greenhouse
Color: Silver Size: 6' x 6' x 7'
I am so happy I purchased this greenhouse! It has been about two months since I received and installed the 6'x6' version. I am eternally grateful for my boyfriend who put it together almost entirely by himself (I tried to help, but mostly made things worse). It is a doozy to build, however, if you read the instructions completely over a couple of times before beginning and pay attention closely to the steps while building then you can do it. It took him two days because he took his time and didn't jump ahead. You will end up having to backtrack and undo your work if you try to move forward without instructions. Layout all of your materials and head of time and be sure you received everything you need. We built ours on top of a simple 4x4 floor frame and have not had a single issue with sturdiness. I have been able to start all of my plants two months early and will have a head start on the growing season. The greenhouse traps heat and humidity wonderfully during the day and if it gets too hot then I prop the window and door open. It works great and I would definitely recommend for the gardener who can't afford a $2000 cedar greenhouse! ... show more
