    • The gutter design is VERY poor

As much as I like the overall design and ease of assembly of the whole system, the gutter design is utterly lacking and seems like an afterthought . The 13x26 kit contains three joints for the gutter. The joints are made of flimsy plastic pieces that are less than an inch for each side of the joint. Even with caulking, the flexing during handling and installation means that it leaks like a sieve. I ended up having to use aluminum tape to patch a $5K purchase. The gutter joints should have been made out of larger metal connectors and water tight (isn’t that the minimal functional requirement for a gutter?) The end caps and downspout are similarly disappointing, flimsy plastic parts that leak. Also no downspout drainage parts provided. The nonstandard size means I have to rig up and adapt using various connector adapters from the hardware store. Also how come the extension kit comes with aluminum blocks for the lower support beam joints, but the base kit does not? I expect this joint to sag over time. ... show more

    • The shelter is an excellent product we are very pleased with.

This is a great addition to our home. A year ago we had to deal with cleaning snow/ice off our pickup truck. With the shelter attached to the side of the garage, the truck is fully protected from winter's worst weather, which in Maine can be fierce. It is well made, sturdy and an asset we really needed. Nice kit. Instructions difficult to follow. Two kits combined with two separate set of instructions. No water down spouts accessories designed to work with this kit. Water makes a mess on patio. All plastic parts cheesy and flimsy.

This is just what I was looking for. It provides shelter but still allows the light to come in. Installation and assembly was not too hard. It does take two strong people and at least a couple days but it was worth it.
