I bought this as a backup to my Apple Pencil (1st Generation) so that I'd have something to use while it charges. For about one-third the price, this stylus is a bold competitor. The look and feel is very similar to the Apple Pencil, though it does sport a flat edge similar to the Apple Pencil 2 (though not quite as wide an edge) that keeps it from rolling off the table. I have used it daily for over a week and have not needed to recharge it, so the battery life is impressive. I am guessing that this may have something to do with the fact that it is not a Bluetooth device. In fact, if you have an Apple Pencil connected to your device (I am using an iPad Air 3rd Generation), it won't work. You have to disconnect your Apple Pencil (you can also just turn off Bluetooth temporarily) for this stylus to be recognized. I also like the blue "on" status light. The Apple Pencil lacks that. I tend to flip my pen around in my hand while I think, and inadvertently turn the stylus off while I am working with it. With the Apple Pencil, I have a rubber stylus cap over the charging port (stem) and I use that to move my documents around and do other finger gestures. The Xiron Stylus Pen has a plain plastic top with no cap. I suppose one could put a cap on it, but then you'd have to remove it to turn the pen on and off. Anyway, I am getting used to not touching the pen top. It is very sensitive, so if you're Stylus Pen stops working, just make sure the blue light is on. You may have unknowingly turned it off. The nib is very sharp and accurate, which makes it great for both note-taking and drawing. I prefer to use a matte screen protector. Xiron makes one that works well with the iPad Air. It makes the screen feel more like paper when writing with a stylus, and adds to your ability to control the nib. Over all, this is a high-quality stylus that fits great in the hand and feels very natural to write with. It is just a bit thicker than the Apple Pencil (1st Gen), but you would only notice that if you held both at the same time. It charges very quickly and the charge lasts a long time. For the price, it really can't be beat. There are a lot of alternatives to the Apple Pencil on the market, each with its own pros and cons. This one is one of the most affordable and full-functioning alternatives. If you are a student looking to take notes and doodle, or a writer like myself, you will love this stylus. ... show more

The pencil works great. The battery life is good and it works flawlessly on my 9th generation iPad. My only complaint is how loud the tips are when I'm writing. I use my iPad to take notes when hosting sessions for my clients. It's a bit obnoxious to the pen clacking on the screen with every stroke. The packaging was nice, and it comes with a recharging cable and replacement tips. I had thought perhaps the tips were different styles, but they are all the same. You don’t have to connect this thing by Bluetooth or anything difficult you literally turn on the pin and it works. It comes with several tips just in case you wear down the tips of the current pencil. It’s very well built and sturdy and it feels amazing in your hand.!!! Definitely recommend this product. This pen was a great way to see if I wanted to invest in a higher end stylus. It immediately connected to my iPad, and it is accurate and easy to use. Having to charge with a cord instead of wirelessly on the iPad is an extra step, but the battery lasts a long time, so it's not too big of an inconvenience. The on/off function gets annoying because I have to turn the pen back on every few minutes before I can write. Biggest complaint is the "only draw with apple pencil" feature does not work for this pen, so my hand resting on my iPad pro often draws lines/dots and makes the pen not write where I want it to. I accidentally connected to my coworkers apple pencil once day, and I had to manually disconnect that device for this pen to reconnect -- if your pen suddenly stops working, check your settings! ... show more

This pencil is such a great item! Easily matches the performance of the high-cost matching brand name pencil. Out of the box, it’s ready to go. No pairing required, just make sure your “pencil” settings are all turned off. Tap the “eraser” end of the pencil, and it instantly works. The he blue light shows you it’s on. Comes already charged, so you can use it right away. Has a great weight and more expensive feel to it. I love using the rubber tip cover to cover the on/off switch while in use, so I don’t accidentally bump it off. Turns itself off after a period of inactivity, to save battery life.
