I normally work in spray paint, but I’m in a small apartment now and wanted something with a similar feel that didn’t have the fumes. I had never used these before but I hoped they’d give me the same vibrant colors with quick drying time so I could work faster. I took me a bit to get used to them, but but you can actually accomplish a lot of different techniques by blending and layering. They work a bit like alcohol-based markers, especially on something like canvas that doesn’t absorb the oil, but they’re also opaque enough that you can work from dark to light. I honestly didn’t think I’d get this level of detail out of these, but I love how it turned out. I actually mixed two different sets at similar price points but saw no noticeable difference in quality. They all came individually wrapped and they all work as expected. These colors were vibrant but more natural than the other set I ordered, so I ended up using these most of the time. But yeah, super easy to use. No washing brushes or paint water. I needed durable paint for my insulated mug. It was worn and badly cracked. As an artist, I knew oil paint in a tube would scratch off easily. Acetone removed the old design and I used these paint pens to create my own abstract design. I didn't paint the areas that had worn the most. My young teen son absolutely loves these, he hunted them down online and counted down the days til they arrived.... They have been brilliant, hours of fun. Nice and solid, amazing coverage. Would be good to have some more shades, there are a lot of browns. Fantastic buy.

    • Be careful removing the cap!

These markers started leaking from the tops where the pen fitting attaches to the container base. What it turned out to be was that when you remove the very tight fitting caps, if you turn them counter clockwise you will inadvertently unscrew the pen fitting causing the seal to break. We ended up filing down the flare on the pen neck so that the lid didn't fit so incredibly tight, and also when removing the cap ONLY turn clockwise, this will ensure it does not unthread. These acrylic paint pens were great for my rock garden painting kids craft. Paint has stayed on and it's been over a month. The unfortunate surprise about these pens is they are difficult for kids to get the tight caps off. Many of the kids tried getting caps off but couldn't ended up twisting the caps which actually opened the liquid all over the table, still haven't been able to get the paint off. We used place mats but when twisted caps were opened by accident it spilled out everywhere. I don't think these paint pens are kid friendly.
