Hoped cat would use brush part. That didn't happen. The post does look very nice. Both cats took to it right away. They also like the option of sitting on top. Have had it three months now.

Purchase came immediately (day after I ordered it). Made in China so it was well designed for easy assembly. But they used very light wood for the base, as well as very thin carpeting. My cat is about 9 to 10 lbs and he has avoided the upper shelf because the base is too light for him to feel secure. It hasn't tipped over yet, but it does rock. It is the first cat "furniture" I have purchased from Amazon. I have an old scratching post that my cat no longer uses and the base is smaller but heavier. The lesson I have taken from my purchase is to buy from a pet store that has inventory that is made in America. Nothing against Chinese products, but the materials are too lightweight for this design to be sturdy for my adult cat. Update: My medium size cat is using it. He sort of hangs over the carpeted platform, but adding 2 stars to my initial rating because I was wrong.
