Arrived in a box so small I didn't realize it was the media stand. It is a very heavy and tightly packed box, but they go out of their way to make the parts easy to find by enclosing it in protective clear plastic. No scratches, no confusion as a result. Once the parts are laid out, you will realize it has a whole lot of pieces. Instructions are good, and everything is labelled except the "D" screws but they are pretty easy to figure out. It took me about 45 minutes to assemble. My thoughts? I know they are looking for a cool mechanistic look, but the shelves are too small and don't need to be. You can't put a full-sized receiver, Blu-Ray player, or other full-size media sources on the shelves without having to set them directly on the middle shelves (legs fall off the sides), which compromises cooling. If you want to put an X-Box, a projector or other small source, they will fit on the shelves. The 2nd from the bottom shelf includes a small power strip with 4 AC plugs and a couple of USB plugs, which is nice and helps with cable management on this very open piece of furniture. The top of the stand is plenty big for a full-sized receiver, and the piece is quite stable even with a heavy audio unit on it. Overall, a nice piece of media furniture at a good price and well-suited for light audio equipment duties. I like the looks, and it is quite solid as long as you crank down the hex screws completely. A bit too much to assemble, but not difficult. I would recommend it. (Note: You will notice I assembled it with only 1 of the middle shelves in place. This is because one of the support pieces arrived broken and i am waiting for a replacement to arrive.). ... show more

This is an alright media stand shelving system. I'm kind of confused by the shape though. The shelves and overall shape is a TRAPEZOID. That means one side of it is smaller in length than the opposite side. I'm not sure what the rationale is behind this. The fact that the shelves also don't fully extend to the footprint of the actual whole stand is confusing. There's a bit of space wastage going on. Further, the instructions were a little confusing—more minimal than like IKEA instructions or LEGO instructions. I like the cross-hatched pattern on the bottom-most shelf, which is good for air flow, but I just don't quite understand the rationale for the rest of the stand. This stand's functions could be accomplished just as well with a normal rectangular prism form factor and shelves that cover the entire stand's footprint. ... show more
